You can enjoy Tigertail, even if your ties never touch the water. The beach is long and deep with lots of room to unwind. Be advised, it is a pretty long hike from some (not all) of the parking lots ... this can be a problem if carting chairs or gear. Good for watching the varied array of sea birds. Not as good for shelling as other beaches in the area but still fun (get there early) It's a must-visit for every Marco Island trip.

Lovely groomed beach with restroom facilities. An observation tower, a cafe, cabanas, chairs and waterspouts equipment to rent. Lots of little fish and crabs in the water. Many people waded across the lagoon, beach towels aloft to the path through the trees to the ocean side beach. Will try it next time.

It's a little bit of a hike to get to the beach. You have to wade through a lagoon, probably a little more than waist deep. It's very secluded. There are no hotels or other buildings nearby. We enjoyed it more than South Marco beach.

After reading other reviews, we decided to pack light, even though we had 2 kids with us which was great advice. We parked far left in the parking lot, area 6..and once we got off the ramp, we headed to the left, which was a longer walk but with the kids we werent sure of walking through the lagoon. But the spot we picked was great. We had the beach almost to ourselves, except for the pelicans fishing. The water was very shallow and you could walk all the way out to another sandbar where we saw star fish. We were also joined by several different species of fish. My grandaughter thought it was great that the fish were swimming all around her legs. Will add this to our Must do in Marco Island list and will try the shortcut through the lagoon next time.

Beautiful beach with lots of shells. We have been coming to Florida for years, this is the most wildlife we have seen on a public beach. There was to many starfish and sand dollars to count. Just be aware it is about a half mile walk from the furtherest point you can park to the water if you choose not to wade through the lagoon. Also if you stay to watch the sunset and walk back it feels very isolated in the dark and a little scary, but totally worth the view.
