Stayed there with family, got the nice spacious one bedroom suite with a balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens and the beach, could not be happier. They valet parked our car for the standard self park rate because our van was oversize. Fresh fruit, champagne, and plenty of water at the resort. Kids had a blast at the pool table. Chess board is always busy which is great. Pool is very conveniently located in the center of the gardens. Rooms are well equipped. I think they try hard to keep the Astoria standards. Rooms are a bit dated, particularly the washrooms, but I think the location etc. makes up for it. Good service at the resort restaurant. Beach is great. The staff really makes an effort to get everyone a chair and towels as needed. I really appreciate that because too many people just "hold" their chair even when they are not using it. Room service is great. Our kids ordered a pizza or two late night and didn't go hungry. Its two blocks from the southernmost point with lots of small and large restaurants in walking distance. Its also on the quiet end of Duval which makes it even better. I would stay here again.

We stayed in a double room. The beds are full-sized rather than queens, which is unfortunate, but the beds and pillows are very comfortable. The beach is absolutely lovely. We were there for a wedding and the main course (filet with mashed potatoes and spinach) was delicious, but my scallops (the starter) were a little sandy. I did not encounter her, but other guests told me of an awfully rude front desk clerk. Housekeeping was slow. We left for an entire morning and early afternoon. We left the "Service Please" tag on the door and a room service tray outside the door. They ended up not coming until late afternoon, when we were back in the room getting ready for the evening's activities. What I particularly did not like was the feeling that I was being nickel and dimed at a resort that charges $500/night. There's an extra resort fee, an extra parking fee, two morning coffees were $12, and $25/person for a continental breakfast. I mean, you get free continental breakfast when you stay at a Holiday Inn for $79. The wedding party needed some baby powder or cornstarch to get a stain out of a dress on the day of the wedding, they brought an entire industrial-sized box of cornstarch to the room and charged, without warning, the bride $36, which she found later on her bill. What they did provide was gobs of free bottled water. I very much appreciated that.

In short, the stay was very nice, but for the price, they should make their guests feel more special. They could do that by not charging extra for every little thing.

Room Tip: Rooms are quieter on the northeast side of the hotel.

Hotel was great. No adult pool, but the beach was great. Some might want to bring water shoes. Beds were comfy. Every room has balcony. Staff was great. Was able to use pool at night as long as your quite.

Paid premium- received below average. Rooms extremely small- probably 10' narrow than your average room. Beds were Fulls not queens- due to the size. I would NEVER stay here again- you are better off looking elsewhere. We also had a wedding right below our room- went until 11PM. Paid extra for ocean-view-could really enjoy. We figures being a Waldorf-Astoria- we couldn't go wrong. Don't make the same mistake we did....

This is a beautiful location only a block away from the nightlife of Duval St. We loved the proximity to dining and shopping. When we arrived the front desk told us we had been upgraded to a studio, which had a sofa, kitchenette, & extra large bathroom. The view was so so as many palm trees obstructed most of our view. Pool was a little small. Prices at the restaurant were high but then again everything else in Key West was as well! Room was clean, balcony needed pressure washing! Nice activities, we saw many going out on jet skis and kayaks. Self parking was easy under the building where elevators will get you right to your room.
