Booked a block of rooms for a family wedding at Casa Marina. Very disappointed in condition of hotel in general. We understand that it is an historic site, but that is no excuse for the number of problems that were present in their guest rooms. Rooms smell damp, furniture old, dirty, in need of repairs, unable to close drapes, sinks with no water coming out of faucets, showers with no water pressure, missing phones, missing TV remotes, limited linens and NO ONE CARES. On one side of hotel, noise and vibrations from lounge is unacceptable. Plaster ceiling fell down in hall and a nail fell from ceiling in room. Stairs to beach closed. Must use public access. Parking very poor. Staff was okay. Great location and wedding co-ordinator and her staff did a great job. DO NOT RECOMMEND you stay here until they invest in the facility. The owner needs to take responsibility and pride in ownership.

Room tip: Go to hotels down the street if you plan on staying overnight

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU STAY AT THIS DUMP!!! The owner of this place should be embarrassed to call this a hotel. We were told we had an oceanfront view, when we got to our room we had a view of the public parking lot next door. We were told that there was ample free parking...then told it was mostly free parking and if it was full we were on our own. The staff lacks any apparent hospitality training and/or common courtesy at all. They act like you're bothering them if you so much as ask them anything (God forbid they have to put their phone or book down). The room...oh, where to start...When you walk in, the smell of old mold is overwhelming. The furniture is old, broken, stained, rusty, and smells like a frat party happened the night before. The floors are scratched and gouged everywhere, the tub was rusty, the bathroom window was stuck in the open position, the other window in the "living room" was stuck and wouldn't open (also had shards of broken glass on the brick ledge outside), there was a bucket under the wet bar sink to catch the leaking pipes, our main TV was not functioning for the whole first day, the mini fridge had stains and sticky mystery goo in it,the door to the room never closes flush, the curtains aren't even mounted to the wall and don't fully close. If you plan on sleeping, make sure someone hits you in the head with a lead pipe and knocks you out cold. The rooftop bar sounds like cross between an earthquake and Metallica show until 2 in the morning. This place is absolutely filthy. A wedding took place during our stay and 2 days later, the courtyard still had wine GLASSES, yes glass at the beach, rolling around with used napkins blowing around in the wind. We asked for washcloths and got hand towels. We called back down to the front desk and were told none were available?!? Linens, again, not a strong point here. Dirty, stained, and really old. Looked like Goodwill had a sale. One morning, we woke up at 7am to a gas leak that was so strong it had made it's way to the second floor. It was so strong I became nauseous and light headed. We told the front desk and were told "I smell it to, I'll let the maintenance guy to look into it when he comes in around 10 or 11". I guess 3 or 4 hours is the standard time to wait for a gas leak, or until people start passing out and getting sick. Kidding me?? PLEASE, consider staying somewhere else if you want to enjoy your time here. This is the most unfriendly, filthy, disgusting, low rent, cheapest excuse for a "hotel" I've ever seen. A true dump if I've ever seen one.

As previously mentioned by another customer, the photo of this place looks so different from How it really looks. It's old and dumpy and smells of water damage. We went for happy hour, beer was fine but food was mediocre. Blue chips I think were prepackaged with cheese and reduction sprinkled on top. Ginger shrimp was ok. View is wonderful, but that's all they have going for them. Will not be back. I can get way better in Amelia Island beachfront.

Went today for happy hour. Had the pork sliders, garlic shrimp and blue chips. Good, tasty bar food for a great happy hour price.

Rooftop bar over looks the ocean and is a great place to have a few drinks.

Our stay was one nite, would not have wanted to stay a second nite; Hotel from website looked fabulous, other that one of the bedroom photos with a wire hanging across; Hotel needs a major overhaul, a good cleaning, and a new front desk person!!!! The girl that came on after 3 was really efficient and professional. While the rooms are very roomy the walls are paper thin; The hotel is right at the beach, NICE; and the upstairs bar was nice, but the only way there is to take the stairs; Very sparse on linens; our view was of hotel stock pile trash; Could be a fabulous place, but its not.
