Whenever we cruise out of Florida, we try to have Cuban food. Padrino's did not disappoint. It was great. I made a reservation for four through the Open Table app and our table was ready when we arrived. We had a great meal beginning (Ropa Vieja Quesadillas and Picadillo Empanadas) to finish (Tres Leches). Every thing was delicious and the décor was modern and comfortable. We would return in a second.

Contemporary twist on traditional latin decor, but with so many hard surfaces the space became quite loud, and in addition the volume of the music seemed too high.
Despite that, the service was very friendly and very accommodating (especially to our elderly guests with dietary restrictions).
The bar service was slower than expected and the beer and wine selection is quite limited. The food was very good - basic savory Cuban fare. The half roasted chicken was marinated with garlic, crunchy skin and tender moist meat - including the breast. The yucca, plantains and tostones were also very good. The rice fluffy and with a hint of onion. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the simply grilled mahi-mahi fillets and traditional cuban sandwich and the lemon pie.
Overall good Cuban fare - which is rare in Fort Lauderdale although common in Miami and the western suburbs.

How this restaurant has such good reviews is beyond me!

This was our experience:

1. Tired and dated restaurant of particular note the carpet and tables and chairs

2. Dirty side plates

3. Basic dishes - roast chicken was clearly not freshly cooked. The chicken with mozzarella was a disaster on a plate!

4. Half the vegetables were cold, the other half Luke warm.

5. Presentation of the food was really poor.

This restaurant needs a total makeover. A visit from Gordon Ramsey is clearly long overdue!

My brother who lives in Fort Lauderdale took us to this excellent Cuban Restaurant. For appetizers we took Combinacion Cubana, Picadillo Empanadas, croquetas de jamon. For our main meals we had Churrasco which is Flank steak, Pan con Bistec which is a steak sandwich, Chilindron de Carnero which is lamb shank, Vaca Frita which is shredded flank steak, Enchilado de Mariscos which is seafood creole and Paella which is combination of scallops, shrimps, mussels, chicken, chorizo sausage. Food was very tasty. I have no problem recommending this restaurant. EXCELLENT

We found this place on Open Table our hotel was not far away on A1A. We enjoyed the drinks, appetizers and entrees all were delicious, we did not have dessert but they looked good at the table next to us. Our server a very nice Latin guy was kind and well meaning though he was slow and forgot to order our appetizers. Parking in front in the free lot, had a small amount of outdoor tables but sat inside. I would go again if in the area.
