The boat house is located on the east side of the main lodge. It is a captivating two bedroom, one bath house comfortably decorated in a fish camp style. At the right time of the season this house is showered with the fragrance of Wisteria growing wildly on the River Bank. The boat ramp used to launch our boats, canoes and kayaks is located on the side of this house. The Boat House includes a large screened in porch facing the river. It is ideal for four adults and two children. One bedroom has a double bed and the other a queen bed. Both bedrooms share a common closet. The couch also makes out into a comfortable queen size bed. All linens and towels are provided.
A Dish satellite cable TV in the living room offers multiple channels with a built in DVD player for viewing movies. We have a small library of movies in the boat house or you may bring your own. We also have a wonderful library with many different types of books for your reading pleasures during your visit.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, cooking utensils, pot and pans, microwave, coffee pot, refrigerator, gas stove and oven. Near the boat house you will find our lower deck built over the river with a fire pit. It is a great spot for relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet of the river. You may also want to lounge in one of our hammocks. The boat house is a delightful and comfortable house that many of our guests prefer.
canoeing and kayaking is available at no extra charge. Gas grill is also available at the Boat House.
We offer yoga classes and massage therapy for an additional charge. These services must be scheduled in advance.

If your looking for nature, quiet and relaxation, this is the place! From beautiful sunrise mornings to the sunset evenings on the river, it is perfect. The lodge is also close to many attractions if you would like to experience them (beaches, wildlife preserves, parks and hiking)! The boat house is a wonderful place to stay with a comfortable screened in porch that overlooks the river. The kitchen is perfect for cooking (if you so chose), and the rest of the boat house is beautifully decorated and made for living a life of relaxation and ease.
The owners Kathryn and Ron made us feel welcome and part of the family! Our first evening was spent on a river tour so we would be comfortable when we took off with our kayak for a day exploring. The breakfasts prepared by Kathryn each day were not only delicious, but a time to reflect on the previous day, tell stories and plan the day to come.

Breakfast is served daily upon request. Eco tours are available as well as 1/2 day and full day trips to the local springs. Much to see and do. Also known as a perfect romantic get-a-way. Choctaw Lodge Retreat is the perfect venue for weddings and private parties year round. E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center and The Wolf Preserve are close by for a new and different experience with nature.
