Spent 2 weeks over Bike Week here and found it to be an ideal location. Just far enough away from the action but minutes to be a part of it all.
Clean and well appointed property which felt very secure and welcoming. Immediately felt at home. A return stay is highly likely.
In an effort to get our son away from the horrible Birch allergy season in the Northeast this year, we decided to stay in Daytona Beach for ~3 weeks during the height of the allergy season.
This is a very nice studio apartment and came with everything we could have possibly needed for an extended stay. Based on our research, many rentals do not have a stove, which was essential to us for cooking meals for our 3 week stay. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, and lots of supplies, including trash bags, paper towels, aluminum foil, dishwasher detergent, etc. The bathroom came well stocked with hand soap, toilet paper, etc. The closet had a vacuum to keep the floors clean.
The bed was comfortable and there was an ample supply of pillows. The linen closet was well stocked with additional pillows, sheets, and blankets for the bed or the couch. A front-load washer and drier rounds out the linen closet. The washer was a bit eccentric, but once you get used to its oddities, it was more than sufficient.
The AC was quite sufficient to keep the apartment comfortable the entire time. The flat panel TV was decently sized and of nice quality. There is a DVD player attached with a random selection of movies for viewing. The TV also had a ChromeCast device attached so you could stream any content from your computer using the Chrome browser to the TV--we used this to watch Netflix on the larger screen. Wi-Fi is included, with a private router for this unit only in room. The Internet access was fairly slow, but that is no fault of the property owners. It was sufficient for one system at a time, but seriously bogged down with two or more computers accessing the Internet simultaneously.
Rob, the property owner, was quite attentive and thoughtful. There were some nice cakes and fresh fruit left for us at check-in, which was a nice touch. He checked in with us a few times over the first few days to make sure we had everything we needed and then left us alone unless we reached out to him. At one point the lever that controls the drain in the bathtub snapped off and we were unable to drain the tub. A quick call to Rob and he came over with the parts out of his tub so that he could quickly fix the problem.
The overall grounds of the property were very nice as well. As noted, this is a gated community and you have to be let in by security, or open the gate with a passkey. While we had a passkey for the gate, security was quite attentive and friendly and always opened the gate for us when they saw us approach. The grounds of the property were almost 'jungle-like', for lack of a better term, but not wild and overgrown. Lots of palm trees, shrubs, and lots of small lizards running around. It was a quite peaceful effect.
The beach is literally minutes away, although we chose to drive further south to the Ponce Inlet area for a less crowded beach experience, but even this is only ~10-15 minutes away. The speedway is also minutes away. The Orlando area and all of its tourist attractions is roughly 60-70 minutes away.
This is definitely a nice place and worth the visit if you are looking for longer-term accommodations in the Daytona area.
