Really nice. The outdoor pool/Jacuzzi & outdoor kitchen are really nice. Needs more silverware & beds were a little too hard for our taste but I think we will definitely go back.

“Renters beware - deceptive advertising”

I have mixed reviews of my stay at the Beach Palace. First, the pros: The house is very nice. It has a great location, and is within walking distance of many great restaurants and shopping, and the most beautiful beach I’ve visited in years.

Unfortunately, there are cons:
• Needs some repairs (a sliding door that doesn’t lock, blinds in the master that will open and shut but don’t turn, small holes throughout that need to be patched)
• Lacking in some basic amenities (no beach towels – had to buy our own, absolutely no extras – like spices – in the kitchen, not even salt or pepper – had to buy our own)
• Not enough servicing pieces in the kitchen for the size of the house (3 cups, 4 knives, no small spoons). There were 8 of us in the house, and we had to buy paper plates and plastic utensils so we could all eat at the same time.
• We were asked by the owner to wash the towels when we left, but there was no laundry detergent provided so, you guessed it, we had to buy our own.
• The BIGGEST disappointment by far is that the owner is advertising amenities that aren’t actually available. The wet bar and outdoor kitchen are not finished, so it seems deceptive to advertise that they are available. There was literally nothing about them that we could use: a wine refrigerator that wasn’t installed, an outdoor sink that wasn’t hooked up, and the grill in the outdoor kitchen had all the pieces just sitting in it, not even built yet.

When we initially reached out to the owner to inquire about the house, we were quoted one rate. When we made the reservation 3 months later, the owner advised that the price had increased as a result of the new pool, wet bar, and outdoor kitchen. That was 10 months ago, which would have been more than enough time to complete this installation. Given that we were quoted an increased rate SPECIFICALLY based on these amenities, I reached out to the owner to discuss a partial refund of the increase. The owner responded indicating that, in his opinion, we got a great deal and he would not consider it.

I am disappointed to see that this house is still being advertised as having these amenities available “for your enjoyment” when they are not. Deceptive advertising and questionable business ethics. Renters beware. (Should the owner choose to respond to this post by implying this is some sort of smear campaign, it’s not. Everything above is fact-based, and I have the emails to support it.)
