Booked for one week with family in Feb 2018. Booking this resort was smooth and easy. Hedzer was accommodating and attentive throughout our stay. The home is quite a way from the airport - about 3hr drive far, just slow through narrow roadways sometimes very busy near Kuta. I recommend two weeks as you will spend a day driving in total. Drivers were very friendly and showed up at the airport for us with signs. We arrived a two different times so two drivers were sent...first one right on time and second a few minutes late perhaps due to changes in itinerary. Once at the home, the property is grand. Private gated parking area, lotus garden then home with very high door and ceilings. 4 well appointed baths for bedrooms and an entrance bath. Infinity pool with two cabanas on ocean were fabulous and our family loved the space. The plumeria tree stand over the pool and leave beautiful flowers from time to time that smell heavenly. There are six staff here to look after the grounds, drive, cook, clean and security. This is great but there is a price in terms of privacy in that there is always people around the property. There was an issue finding seafood which I found strange since we were surrounded by tropical seas loaded with fish. However we did find a place called Pepetes in Lovina that had a good selection of fresh white fish at good prices. The staff can cook for you but our family likes to cook so we let them cook a few local dishes the first few days then we took over. There is an excellent spa service that we used a couple of times..there is massage tables on property. We loved the attention to detail at this property, The overhangs and cabanas in case there is rain, extend visiting outdoor periods. Walkarounds, lighting features - elephants, fan palms, etc. The fisherman on the beach each morning with their nets were entertaining. There dogs do come onto the property but are not aggressive and if you ignore them they will leave.
We would definitely return but would stay longer next time.

The Sungai Raja staff gave us a warm welcome at our arrival and supported us in many ways. They have prepared good western breakfasts and delicious Indonesian lunches and dinners for us.
The villa is very luxurious and spacious, located at see, with a beautiful garden and infinity pool.
We have enjoyed the environment. Yes we have seen dolphins, although it took us some time to find them, but it was worth the effort.
All of this in combination with the silence at the beach, with only the sound of birds, the seawater and crickets at night and the amazing view made this part of our trip unforgettable.
We have enjoyed the waterfalls Gitgit, Munduk and Sekumpul. All really beautiful.
Especially at Sekumpul where we were confronted with the start of the rainy season. After an impressive tropical rainstorm we started our trip at Sekumpul and we have seen more water coming down, then we could ever see in our wet Netherlands.
We have seen a monastery and enjoyed the food in the region. But certainly we also stayed at the villa to relax and enjoy. All in all we had a great time at Sungai Raja.

The surroundings, the staff, the massages and the food are more than enough to keep you occupied for several weeks, you won't have to leave... but if you do the day trips are more than memorable and every second is an adventure. I have stayed at many 5 star resorts and this takes the cake! Don't hesitate to book this house immediately you won't regret it.

We have just got home from this amazing Villa , it was the most beautiful home in a wonderful setting , but the best thing is without a doubt the wonderful Staff , Indry Desy Gusty who were so kind helpful and always smiling , nothing was too much trouble for them at all and this made the stay even better , We will definately be returning hopefully November next year , It is a home made in heaven and we miss it dreadfully ,I cannot finish without talking about the wonderful Taxi driver Ketut who is so happy to show you his wonderful country and explain everything about it , Thank you to all of you wonderful people at Villa Sungai Raja ,
