Review of Miyagi Ramen Bar

Miyagi Ramen Bar
Ranked #98 of 288 Restaurants in Rehoboth Beach
Price range: US$4 - US$18
Description: Passion for Ramen -What started as a simple conversation among two friends with a passion for ramen soon became the inception of Miyagi Ramen Bar. Our main goal was to bring non processed home cooked Asian meals with fresh ingredients to the Delaware beach area at an affordable price. Our noodles are made fresh in house as well as the broth and sauces. We offer authentic and fusion ramen as well as different Japanese and Korean dishes. Our name, Miyagi comes from Miyagi Prefecture in Japan which is a sister State to Delaware. In 2011, Miyagi Prefecture was hit by a major earthquake and tsunami. As individuals and small businesses in Delaware, we got together and collected donations to help with the relief and rebuilding effort in Miyagi. Therefore the name "Miyagi" holds a greater meaning for us. It represents that when we are struck by disaster and are in need, we all are one race and humanity always prevails.

We went there during Happy Hour -- wondering what this would be, This not your usual noddle shop or Sushi bar-- great East Asian Fusion dishes. We had both Happy hour drinks (beer) and food (Kara-age chicken).

One of the best restaurants in the area. Unsure of the menu, our waiter asked about our preferences (chicken v pork v beef, spicy v mild) and took care of the ordering for us. AMAZING ramen bowls and very knowledgeable staff. Get the black garlic entree. 10/10 recommend.

Our friend Kim opened Miyagi late in the summer of 2017. We have been a few times, all enjoyable. The most recent trip we were joined by four friends for whom this was their first visit. It was a big hit. Our server showed us the ropes (literally) and explained our choices and made thoughtful recommendations. We shared several appetizers and then on to our entrees. The menu is varied enough so ramen is not required but you are missing something if you don't get it. It is the best, and nothing like the cheap stuff you starved on in college. When in Rehoboth, put it on your list, and you will be back for more.

Miyagi is a spacious and beautifully decorated restaurant located just outside the town of Rehoboth on Route 1. I’ve been wanting to try a meal here since they opened, but when I’m in town, it is always challenging to get me on the highway. Fortunately, late December is one of the few times the roads around here are not a maelstrom of peril and frustration.
But I digress. All the rave reviews I have seen about Miyagi are 100% true. Food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch. The menu features classics of Japanese cuisine, and I am highly appreciative of the descriptions, both on the menu and by our server. Portions are generous, but not excessive...come hungry and bring friends so you can share as many dishes as possible.

This was my third visit to Miyaga and, I must say, it has been delicious every time. Tonight I tried the Thai Curry Ramen with an appetizer of the steamed dumplings. As with my other visits, it was delicious.

Along with the great food, the service was also very good.

I strongly recommend that you give this restaurant a try.
