We stayed as a family of 5 including a 3month old baby. Janet was so flexible with us due to the baby's needs, she greeted us all on arrival including her lovely dogs on the farm who love to say hello. Although the cottage was pet free which was important to us due to allergies.
The staircase as you walked in was so grand and rustic, the rooms were spacious with high ceilings, the kitchen was well equipped including an aga and modern oven. The beds were so comfy, and we fitted a travel cot easily in the smaller of the bedrooms too. The main bathroom was very modern and a powerful shower, there was also a downstairs toilet. The only improvement would be remove the personal items/trinkets around the house, the furniture was vintage but suited the style of the property. The garden was huge too.
We parked two cars at the property, and it was a short walk into the village. It took 10 min to get to the A66 or the M6 and a further 10min to get to the northern tip of Ullswater, 20min to the south. So ideal rural location and accessible to major roads.
We will definitely be returning when we next visit Ullswater!
