As many others have said, this is a pleasant little hotel that is ideal for short visits to Yale and local businesses. I have stayed several times and will stay again.

A few areas for improvement:
- rooms facing chapel st. can be a bit noisy from street activity. Stay at the back (odd numbers) until they put in triple glaze windows

- gym is tiny. 4 machines and often fully occupied by 6.30a

- no snacks in the room. Yes, there is room service but a few healthy bites would be nice

Otherwise, this hotel is an excellent choice. New Haven is still disappointing and Yale and the community need to do much more to address the homeless, begging, and other obvious social issues.

This is a repeat stay; experienced travelers will find the amenities they like: comfortable beds, nice rooms, valet, a good restaurant/bar (the Heirloom), newspapers in the morning.

Noisier than we remembered: we had a street-facing room.

Within walking distance of Yale and many good restaurants.

Room Tip: A room that doesn't face the street might be quieter?

From booking till our final loading of the car, we had a wonderful experience at this property. Everyone was friendly and accommodating when we arrived. The rooms were sunny and bright(with blackout shades). I would recommend asking for a rear facing room as the street side was somewhat noisy over the weekend. We hosted a brunch and the catering manager was very sweet and easy to work with as was the staff that morning. We were very happy with our stay there and would recommend it to anyone visiting Yale. Park your car and you are able to walk all over New Haven with ease!

Room Tip: ask for a room not on the street side of the building.

Excellent hotel in New Haven. Accommodating comfortable lobby, nicely appointed rooms, and superb location to visit Yale and local restaurants.. No need to use your car while visiting since everything is within walking distance. Adjoining Heirloom restaurant is good but pricey and service can be slow.
