I am a Lifetime Platinum Member with Marriott with more than 1200 stays.
This trip to Danbury was a particularly important one for me and my family. We were closing on a house. I sent two faxes asking for consideration for a Platinum upgrade - the extra space, microwave, etc would really come in handy.
They said they will see what they can do. At check in the story went from, “You’ll have to pay more if you want an upgrade” to “we don’t have any suites”.
I go up to my room which will be very crowded with all the stuff from our room and hop online to Marriott.Com. I’m staying for 4 nights. They have suites available. They just chose not to offer me this courtesy as a Lifetime Platinum Member with Marriott.
Feeling very under appreciated. This is not typical of Marriott. The front desk staff went in the back room at check in to talk about my request before telling me they don’t have any suites which is not true. Not cool. More
