“Good location on the St.Lawrence River”
Review of Le Quai Resto Pub

On a Thursday at lunch, the restaurant was quite busy. The view of the river from the enclosed dining area was great. Surprisingly, there were very few fish dishes on the menu. Most of the offerings were standard restaurant fare. The caesar salad with cajun salmon was tasty if predictable. The hamburger was ordinary but pleasantly presented. The fries were good and the hamburger came with cole slaw which was good. A large glass of red wine was only $5 which seemed a bargain. There were few restaurant offerings in this small town but Le Quai was substantial and very accommodating.

Man did that restaurant piss me off, just badly executed food from all angles, there was no escaping it.

Mainly attracted by the beautiful inside terrasse on the fleuve in the back, I was most certainly convinced when I saw the lobster roll advertised.

What a downer: obviously still-cold lobster meat prepared the day before, tired looking and tasting lettuce, no mayonnnaise, did not even bother to add butter on the outsides of a lazy bun. At $20, complete ripoff.

And a $7 St-Michel local brew and the total crept up to $34 with tax & tip for one of the most underwhelming food experience of the year.

Avoid.

Could be so much better.

I’m sorry you’re experience wasn’t a good one. In our lobster roll, it is true that there is very little mayonnaise, but that is how we want it. We prefer to let the taste of the lobster shine rather than drowning it in mayo. I agree that not everyone would choose to do it that way but it is simply a choice and not a flaw. Anytime someone orders our lobster roll they can expect that there will be very little mayonnaise. The St-Michel beer is a triple brewed belgium style beer. It has won many awards. Tripled brewed means that it spends a lot of time in the vats and so it is unfortunately more expensive than regular beers. Again I’m really sorry your experience wasn’t a good one but I hope we get the chance to show you that we can and do get it right most of the time.

Very best regards!

Walter

Stopped in for lunch and it was a very busy spot. Service was good. Great view of Marina and St Lawrence.
We enjoyed the soup of the day, real chicken soup, homemade like mom would make
The burger was tasty. Would highly recommend!

If you don't know it exists you might miss it. And it would be a pity because the food, the view and the place is great.
The food was just excellent and we were very well guided in our choices by our waitress. I had the spare ribs, they were juicy, tender and not too spicy. The rest of the crew had salad or tortilla.
Don't miss it!

This nice restaurant overlook a nice small marina. Only 30 minutes out of quebec city, you suddenly feel on vacation.

we have got the lobster roll : as good as any you could find on the Maine coast but much cheeper!

Local beer is available too and the owners are very friendly.

TRY IT but make sure you have a reservation
