Potager Garden Cafe occupies the site of an old market garden and then plant nursery. The nursery shut down many years ago and the site became derelict. It was bought by the current owner who sensitively cleared the old site, retaining original greenhouses and mature trees, and converted it into a cafe, artists' studios and gardens.
We ate breakfast here on Easter Monday. We arrived shortly after it opened at 10am and were the second party to be seated. It quickly filled up and overflowed into additional seating in the adjacent greenhouse.
Staff were good. Food was very good indeed (although the menu is really quite short). The vegan black pudding was particularly tasty.
Hugely recommended. A lovely place for breakfast.
They welcome dogs.
