We stayed at the Tivoli Lodge for the first time the weekend of Feb, 24th and had a great experience. Very nice well equipped clean rooms and the staff is outstanding. They made us feel like we had been coming their regularly. A very relaxing atmosphere and blocks to the gondola and village. We look forward to returning soon.

We stay at Tivoli lodge for 4 nights in mid January-
We were very please with everything about our stay -
The location was convenient to 2 lifts and many restaurants , the room was clean , Well decorated , quiet and comfortable ( we were on the 4th floor with a mountain view ) . The staff was friendly and accommodating- we enjoyed using the complimentary pass to the vail athletic club .... we would definitely return !

Friendliest and most helpful staff of any hotel ever. Breakfast buffet was good and the rooms are adequately sized, clean, and comfortable. The lobby has a lodgy feel with cookies and tea available to munch by the fire-place in the evening. Convenient walk to everywhere in the village.

Great location next to the slopes. Cozy bar and breakfast area was a great place to enjoy the company of friends -- morning (breakfast), apres-ski (cookies and tea), and evening (drinks). In the evening if the bar looked closed, the staff had the ability to serve us a night cap and allow us to enjoy the cozy fire and sitting area. Second time we have stayed here -- will stay here next time too!

I've stayed at the Tivoli for over 30 days so I have a very good feel for the hotel and all it has to offer. There are lots of great things about it and a few not so great things that make use feel like we've been taken advantage of, especially as a loyal and returning client. #1 Be careful how much you pay at the Tivoli. I know for a fact they sold the same exact fireplace, mountainside room that I supposedly got the "best deal" on directly through the Tivoli six months in advance for $250.00 while I paid over $640.00. How do I know? They sold it to my brother and his friend for that price. I know how the industry words and that they need to fill rooms so there are discounts made but when you are loyal and book over six months in advance to get better rates, then they sell for closer to a third of what you paid, it would upset you as well. Just about everyone I spoke to paid under $300.00 for their rooms during this time period while we got our "deal" directly from the Tivoli for $4640 per night. #2 Expect to pay around $50 or more for breakfast with two adults and one child. You can get some items a-la-cart to cut down the bill, but it's still on the high side for breakfast. #3 Most of the staff is helpful and friendly and will go above and beyond. Chris on the night shift and Jamie have been outstanding. Then there is one or two bad apples that make you feel bad for sitting at the lobby tables in the evening if you are not ordering rounds of drinks every 10 minutes. -- Now for the Good part. I already mentioned the front desk staff who go out of their way. The owner, Bob Lazier (an outstanding race car driver in his day) lives at the property. He is friendly and down to earth. You will see him and or his dogs in the lobby throughout the day. Additionally, the location is perfect for walking to dining or right to the lifts. Ski school for the kids is just a five minute walk as well. Rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable. -- Bottom line: If you can get a decent rate below $400 per night (as low as $250) for a Mountain View room you can't go wrong at the Tivoli.

Room Tip: Prices vary a lot. $250 to $1,000 for the same Mountain View room. Be careful!

Hello Mark,

Thank you for taking the time to provide the details of your stay. We were pleased to read that things went well for the most part during your stay, and agree that you can't beat our location or atmosphere. A few times throughout each year, we do compare our breakfast pricing to other hotels to make sure that we are priced accordingly for our local market, and are typically lower than most. We have kept the same pricing for summer and winter breakfasts for the past 3 years. Yes, the al la carte option does help with pricing options, especially with kids. Throughout the season, and only on some select weekday nights, we do run "last minute" specials. However, they are quite restrictive and room types are not guaranteed as the offerings are only on "run of the house" rooms that might still be open for a particular early weekday night. I agree that your brother was fortunate to get such a good rate, but please keep in mind that it's not something that is offered every week (or even every month), and is only offered occasionally at last minute booking opportunities. It would be hard to book air tix, shuttles, and plan it out accordingly by booking in this very flexible manner through 3rd party websites.

Again, we appreciate all of the feedback and look forward to future visits when you are in Vail.

Best Regards,
Brad
