There are a lot of antiques in the hotel, old-fashioned piano, wall clock, cash register. the view from the window of the room is also beautiful, next to the old railway station. The only downside is that no breakfast is served, but there is free coffee, fruit and bottle water. If you would like to go Iron Mountain Hot Springs, buy the tickets with a 10% discount at Hotel Denver and the hotel also provides free bath towels.

I was really excited about this hotel and we paid more for it than any other accommodation on our trip, yet it ended up being my least favorite (in comparison to a hostel and a motel even). I expected it to be really charming, but that was the one thing majorly lacking. The lobby area had a cool design but there was no real reason to hang out there as there was no breakfast or bar present. The staff were quite informal which I appreciated in a way, but at times they seemed a little rude or more interested in talking to each other.

The room I actually found somewhat depressing. It had a really bare feeling with the wooden floors, plain old wooden furniture, and dim lighting. There was no window to the outside- ours looked out over the lobby and we had to keep the curtains closed because you could see into our room from the elevator on the opposite side. There was no microwave or mini fridge. It didn't come off as historical either, just dated and worn down.

The brewpub attached did have good food and beer (and was open later than a lot of places in Glenwood)- also loved our waiter and bartender who were super nice guys, and the cafe had nice coffees and breakfast options. The parking is also included and located just down the block. Hotel is right in the main part of town. Overall though, I wish we had saved our money and stayed at a motel or spent what we did on a nicer place.

This was the worst hotel we stayed in during our vacation. First, there is no close parking to the hotel. There is a 10 min. loading zone out front but then you have to park and walk about a block or block and a half and walk back to the hotel. Not a big deal if you are staying in your room after check-in, but a royal pain in the neck when you forget something in the car that you wanted in your room. Next, we had to use a crappy, tiny, hard to run service elevator to get our luggage to the fourth floor because the regular elevator only goes to the 3rd floor. Next, we were told we could use the hot springs pool IF we paid the entrance fee of $27 per person, but we would be getting the hotel discount for the ticket ($3 per person). I was not impressed with the hotels' marketing of the hot springs as part of their hotel amenities only to find out later that we were expected to pay an additional entrance fee for the pool, which you have to walk down the street to even access. Needless to say, we were not impressed with this place. Yes, it is clean, yes it is 'fancy' with regard to the decor, but it is NOT worth the prices they charge. I would have had a much better experience staying at a Best Western! Another warning, if you are short you probably don't want to stay here. The bed was so far up off the floor that I needed a step stool to even get in the stupid thing--how ridiculous!!! We will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Don't get a room on the 4th floor! ONLY a very tiny, very old service elevator to get to the 4th floor and it is very inconvenient!!!

We stayed for one night at the Hotel Denver with our two kids. The location can't be beat next to some of the best restaruants in town and a quick walk over the river/highway to the hot springs. The hotel gives you nice towels and bags to carry over to the springs which is a nice touch. Bottled water and apples were available at the front desk as we walked in and out to grab as we needed. And the coffee shop in the hotel has great coffee and breakfast options.

It is a nice hotel in the center of town. We threw down a little bit more for a river view. Great amenities near by and well appointed. My only qualm is that the design aesthetic across the interiors palette did not quite make its mark.

Room Tip: River view.
