This was our last stop on a five week tour of the mountains. Joe and Jonna (sp) provided a tastefully furnished and equipped apartment over the top of a new building at the back of their Victorian home. It even has a brook cascading down alongside the north end. A private porch in front of the entrance provides outdoor relaxation, while the interior provides the relaxation, space and even laundry you need. It was truly the most comfortable spot on the trip. Joe and his wife are attentive hosts as well, while staying out of your day to day, they are easily available!

Our family of three (and dog) stayed here for two nights. Very large recently remodeled unit that was clean and comfortable. The highlight was we got to leave our son's dog in the fenced backyard while we visited Mesa Verde National Park and the owner, Joe, kept an eye on her. WOW. One doesn't get that kind of personal accommodation very often.
This hidden gem is located at the back of the owner's property about a mile from the main part of Durango. The owner tore down the old carriage house and replaced it with a stunning 1 bedroom apartment above his garage. It is completely private and has a deck that backs up to a beautiful green and flowery hillside. It has all of the amenities of home, all of them first class. Examples are a temperpedic king bed, new washer and dryer, gas stove, gas grill. Being new on the market I'm sure it will be in hot demand in coming years. We loved it and plan on coming back as often as we can.
