Review of Mount Cutler Trail

Mount Cutler Trail
Reviewed 28 June 2018

The Mount Cutler trail is a steady climb, but flows easily and quickly with the excellent scenery distracting you from the effort you're exerting. The one complaint was that it is too short, but with the new extension towards Mt. Muscoco, you can turn it into a solid hike, especially if you're willing to bushwhack a bit to reach the Muscoco summit.

Mount Cutler Trail is Colorado Springs! While the gentle climb goes up and continues to go up for a mile or so the trip is so worth it. When visiting Colorado Springs, throw on some hiking or comfortable walking shoes and head into Cheyenne Canyon for one of the best short hikes around. Great views, excellent exercise. Beautiful.

The trail is not very long and overall not too steep and the reward was great views including of the seven falls area. You can do a short loop or a longer one.

It is a nice hike with beautiful views and you get to look across at some of the Seven Falls when you are almost to the summit. I love to hike in the North Cheyenne Canon Park!

We hiked this trail in mid-February on a day when it was around 60-65 degrees in Colorado Springs and it was great. The views are nice, the trail is not crowded, and it is fairly easy and a great way to break in new hikers (I have a 10/yo son and 3y/o daughter). It only took about 1.25 hours to go up and back down. There are other trails close by but we only did Mt. Cutler.
