We were absolutely delighted by our stay at SkyRun's Grand Moose Lodge. At last, we found a reasonably priced location (just outside Breckenridge) that was actually better than its promotional pictures suggested. This place is every bit as beautiful inside as the pictures reveal, but with gorgeous mountain views and an impeccable attention to detail throughout, this property is one you don't want to miss. We comfortably slept 11 people, adults and kids, on great quality mattresses -- and even set up a hammock to listen to the wind whispering in the pines. The elegant kitchen granite, high-end appliances, soaring sun-filled windows and a rustic, mountain-themed decor elevated this property with a touch of class. It was spotlessly clean upon arrival, and fully stocked. Though it's perhaps a bit too close to Route 9 to avoid some passing traffic noise when you're grilling out on the deck, it also makes it highly convenient to get to town -- just a few minutes. Moreover, right there in the same neighborhood, there's a trailhead for a superb hiking trail (Spruce Creek) that takes you up to some gorgeous mountain lakes within sight of the Continental Divide. We loved our day hike to those lakes, even through the snowfields, and how we were only a little over a mile away to our doorstep. Enthusiastically recommended!
