When I first checked in, I discovered my window was a few feet from the A/C unit that serves the common areas of the property, and it was quite loud. I didn't even set down my bags, but went back to the desk to request another room. I was promptly given a room on the opposite side. While I didn't have the A/C noise, nearby Interstate traffic provided a constant drone frequently punctuated by big rigs. My room overlooked the dumpster, and I got to listen to those dumpster diving and banging the covers shut, as well as the tipping truck emptying the dumpster early on my second morning.
The breakfast area didn't have enough seating capacity for a property this size, even though I was told the entire third floor was vacant. Fortunately, the weather was kind, so I took my breakfast to a bench just outside of the door.
Staff seemed disinterested, with different front desk employees not looking up from their devices until I addressed them.
Although business often takes me to Yreka, I'll avoid this property in the future.More
