The best things I can say about this hotel is that our room was clean and it was less expensive than some hotels in this area.
Check in was muddled and no mention was made of time for breakfast nor any hotel amenities.
Once we’d checked in we were greeted with the bombshell, “there is no lift”, If this information had been on the Choice hotel website we’d never have booked a room here. We deliberately requested a third floor room as we don’t sleep well when other guests are moving around above us. No lift meant that we elderly people had to carry bags up two flights of stairs This took three journeys up those stairs to get several bags to our room ( we are travelling in the USA for four weeks). Anyone can see that we are no longer young and yet no help was offered with our bags.
Our king room was about average size, but the bathroom small. Walls are painted in a dull colour and furniture plus carpet dark. Result. A very dark room. Everything is in need of an update.
Poor maintenance is an issue here: curtains hanging off rail with the two poles plus screws sitting on the window ledge; no plug in the wash basin; old shower fittings; noisy air conditioning (we deliberately did not turn ours on, but were kept awake by our neighbour’s AC).

The most worrying thing here though is safety and security.
There was no smoke alarm in our room and no sprinkler either. There were smoke alarms in the corridor, but we could not see any sprinklers. We saw one fire extinguisher in a locked cabinet, with a hammer to break the glass. Only problem was, there was no glass.
The ground floor door to the swimming pool was left open, presumably to give access to the swimming pool, but it also gave access to the street. This meant they anyone at all could gain access to rooms, especially as the door was at the bottom of the stairs and well away from reception.
We reported all issues to the duty manager at check out as we knew that reporting it late the previous evening, on a very busy holiday weekend, would have been unlikely to achieve a result.
Now to breakfast.
There was no low fat milk left so I had to find someone to refill the jug.
There were about two spoons of congealed eggs left and the eggs had still not been replenished when we left the breakfast area 30 minutes later.
Neither had the English muffin tray been refilled.
We were there between 8 and 8.30 and breakfast doesn’t end until 930, so no excuse for not keeping the food topped up.
Orange juice was incredibly watery.
Breakfast area tiny and certainly not large enough for the size of hotel.

All in all, an unpleasant stay and one we hope never to repeat.

We were passing through and decided to stop for the night and selected this hotel. Met Rachael at the front desk and she was most helpful and friendly. Our room was fine and while other reviews we read mentioned thin walls and etc we slept just fine and there was no sound issues with the freeway nearby. The next morning was a little mixed as the breakfast person either didn't arrive on time or forgot...half hour late opening which delayed the continuation of our trip. Of course the food put out was rushed but in the big picture we survived just fine. And yes, we would stay there again should the timing be right.

This Comfort Inn was the best surprise I had on a recent trip to North America. I did a quick dash from Vancouver, B.C. to San Francisco and back, without pre-arranging hotel rooms because I never knew where or when I'd stop. I was often shut out my first choices -- no vacancies! I rocked up to this place when I could drive north no more, and it had lots of rooms at 10 p.m. on a weeknight. The desk staff was friendly and quick on check-in and out. My ground-floor room was spacious, clean and the fit-out was good. Excellent soft bed, comfy linens, modern bathroom, high-definition TV (with an overly complex remote control). It had the typical American buffet breakfast, which is not as good as what you find in better European hotels, but compared to the absence of such morning meals in Canada and Australia, I say "Score!" All this for less than $90. This Comfort Inn is not a high-end "destination" hotel, but as a good place to rest for a relatively low price, I was pleased. I'm not sure where some of the other reviews about tweakers and bad rooms are coming from (I was only here one night) but this Comfort Inn was NOTHING like the Motel 6 and a shonky San Fran place I stayed at. Now THOSE had some sketchy characters, but this Comfort Inn was like a pleasant country place in comparison.

While the room was clean, the noise from surrounding rooms, hallway and overhead made for limited sleep. It was a good price but we will choose to stay elsewhere next time. It is an old motel that needs an update.
