I was so impressed by the quality of this museum. Laos does not always put its full efforts into museums....to say the least. This one is a happy exception. There are at least two floors of high quality expository information about Xieng Khouang, the Plain of Jars, and their history from prehistoric times all the way to today. There's also a small theater with well-done films on these subjects. There's also a good amount of space devoted to representing the various ethnic groups of Xieng Khouang, which is a nice celebration of Laos' wondrous diversity.
The information is well composed and cited, and I came away having learned a lot. The museum is not too big or overwhelming, so I vote it an excellent use of a couple of hours!
