This place is fantastic! Home made ice cream in a variety of flavors. Some of the usual culprits (vanilla & chocolate), along with new creations. They also have home made pies that are excellent.

Mother Moo knows how to make vanilla ice cream! And some of the most unusual combinations you’ll ever try. It is with the trip to Sierra Madre, a quaint town with great film location chops!

Ok so how they even figure out to put these AmZing things in ice cream is my first thought. Mint chip is literally mint leaves flavoring it and cacoa or something awesome for chocolate. You get my drift. Everything is Hand made. They also sell old time candies that you find in a candy store. There are only two tables inside and a bench or table outside so somedays you might have to sit outside to enjoy. The cones are hand made as well. The ice cream is so rich that I often can’t eat a whole one. They also do pies but I think those are to order. A must stop with kids when you are in Sierra Madre!!!!!

I wondered why there was so much excitement about Mother Moo Creamery. It has great ratings and there are quite a few nice reviews in the local newspapers. It is in the hidden little gem of a town north of Arcadia almost seemingly cut off from the LA basin by the 210 Freeway which almost acts as a Great Wall separating this foothill community from the rest of LA County. The ice cream is great, but $5 for a small cup seems rather steep. But I do have to admit it was really really good. Rich and creamy, it was so delicious. Nice indulgence once in a while and you can say that you really deserve a nice desert once in a while. It also has nice pies and other deserts, will try next time.

I ordered a single scoop of the salted chocolate ice cream, and it was delicious! My only critique would be the five dollar price tag for single scoop of ice cream. A root beer float was like eight or nine dollars, and milkshakes were pretty pricey as well.
