The suites are well-designed. My husband is a night-owl and i am an early bird, so the living room/bedroom suite is perfect for us. The mattress is very comfy. The big screen TVs are good for movie watching. The happy hour reception has pretty ordinary snacks--usually carrots, celery, chips--but the drinks are well-done and the bartenders always friendly. The eggs-cooked-to-order breakfast is a great feature. The location of the Embassy Suites is also very central to several decent restaurants--we particularly like the Mandarin Gourmet and their mu shu pork.
Try to visit on a Thursday night so you can attend the downtown Higuera Street Farmer's market--there are two good BBQ places serving up tasty ribs. Lots of other good snacks as well.
