This hotel is conveniently located about 5 miles north of downtown San Jose, near the fairgrounds, but more importantly near a major shopping center, with a wide variety of shops and restaurants. The front desk employees were very accommodating and responsive and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. A good value for the money.

We chose the Hampton Inn & Suites for its location near a fencing tournament in the area. Downtown and many restaurants are only a short (5 min) driving distance from the hotel. The front desk staff is very welcoming and accommodating. The hotel lobby is bright and airy with a trendy decor.

On the first night, my family of four stayed in a standard two queen beds room and the second night a two queen beds suite (thanks to Yesi who is awesome and got us the room we requested). Both rooms were very clean and spacious. The standard room was large enough to accommodate all of us, but the suite was definitely the reason why we chose the Hampton. It was very spacious and like a comfy home away from home. Having a separate living area with a sofa bed was great and made our stay extra comfortable. For a family with teens, the two TV's in each room was a plus.

Complimentary breakfast at the hotel was fantastic. The buffet was a variety of hot and cold items. There were eggs, sausages, and make your own waffles. An assortment of breads, muffins, and bagels were available. Also provided were fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and hot/cold beverages. There's more, and it's everything need to start your day.

For the value, the Hampton offers a lot.

Room Tip: For families with kids, suites are better. If only standard room is available, a roll away bed will fit nicely too. Higher floor is more quiet.

I registered late for a large convention in downtown San Jose, and was pleased to find an inexpensive room available at this property, only a 5 minute drive from downtown. Clean and comfortable room, free breakfast (which I did not need), and reception Mon.-Thurs. evenings make this my preferred hotel in town.

I liked the happy hour at this facility. It was the best I've had at a Hampton Inn. It included free drinks, salad, hot food (wings, chees sticks) and snacks (chips and cheese dip). Was enough I didn't feel like going out to dinner. The only downfall of this location is that the fairgrounds behind it makes you feel not so safe for some reason. You drive by it on the way to the hotel and makes you feel a bit uneasy (wouldn't go for a run outside).
