I had read a bunch of other reviews that talked about horrible service. I forewarned my family before we got there that poor service may be an issue. We ended up having amazing service.
We were seated very quickly and had a view of the ocean. The restaurant was t crowded inside, but the bar seemed to have quite a few people in it. The deck outside filled up after we arrived.
We were told that they were out of heavy cream and that most of their soups and a few other items were unavailable. I asked about the clam chowder, this is, after all, a chowder house, and was told that they had it. Well, it wasn't great. It was watery, with a bland taste. A couple of us had ordered cups of it and others ordered big bread bowls of it. It wasn't tasty. I ordered their fish and chips and onion rings. The onion rings were delicious! The fish was decent. My husband had French fries with his fish. They were just ok.
Our drinks were refilled numerous times, we were asked a couple of times how things were going, and our server seemed to feel the pace of our meal and brought boxes and the check at just the right time. I just wish that the food was as good as the service.
