The house is located in Orick ( little community right in the middle of all redwood parks including NP- 10-15 min drive to Lady Bird Grove, and few state parks. SO well oriented for visiting south and north from there). There is a small store with basics. Not much of restaurants or any food places, there was one cafe - we did not eat there.
This house was very well described, there were only 2 of us, so we used downstairs only. Master bedroom was very spacious, good closet area and drawers for longer stays. Living room open to kitchen, had a lots of sitting and kitchen was well equipped for vacation cooking ( nice gas grill outside on porch). House was very clean and pleasant ( they are nesting swallows in the eaves, so little messy on upper windows, but porch was clean and it was really fun to be that close to little guys flying long hrs).
Views from porch was fantastic over the farm land to distant Pacific beach. I think I would have like to know more before about the road to the house ( very narrow , one lane with some bad pot holes, through farm - but totally drivable in a car) It was just a little surprise so we were glad to come to the house and see it was just like described.
We had a small issue with door lock but care taker managed it quickly and well.
We had a great stay in this relaxing setting and have already recommend it our friends :)
My family loved Oceansong! Lots of room, new or like new appliances, world class views, comfy beds and furniture, lots to do in the area for all. This place is totally amazing!
Loved this house accessed by crazy rutted road that winds around a hillside. The view was spectacular, watching the Pacific fog bank move in and out. Had great fun watching the horses grazing in the farm down below. Could have spent entire vacation just exploring the cove and marsh but tore ourselves away for some great hikes through the nearby redwoods.
The sleeping loft was tricky for late night bathroom trek. The kitchen was well equipped. If you enjoy cooking, shop for groceries before arriving in Orick. We were there late in the season and restaurant was closed and small convenient store had limited hours.
