I had never been to Oceanside before and staying at the Holiday Inn Oceanside made the trip more pleasant. The hotel is located close to Camp Pendleton, marina and other good restaurants. However, what made my trip great was the customer service, the front desk are very friendly and helpful on recommendations for ongoing events, good places to eat, breweries, etc. I would definitely go back and stay if I have another planned trip.

Hotel is what you expect from a Holiday Inn. Staff were very friendly and helpful. For the most part the rooms are clean. The shower head works but not well. At times it is difficult to get accurate water temperature
The hotels common areas need an upgrade. The carpets are well past their dates.
The hotel should also pay money to install a walkway and staircases going to the parking lot which gives you quick access to the beach. Right now there is a treacherous dirt hill that is difficult for the most sure footed and definitely not accessible for anyone with disabilities

Geoffrey P, General Manager at Holiday Inn Oceanside Camp Pendleton Area, responded to this reviewResponded 4 weeks ago

Dear Pauly132,
Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to share your feedback about your visit. We are glad that you enjoyed the staff service while you were here and appreciate your suggestions on how we can improve our hotel. We are happy to share that we are in the process of re-carpeting all rooms, hallways, and public areas - we will be finished by Dec 1, 2018. If you wouldn't mind shooting us an email with your room number or name we would like to check up on the shower head in the room you stayed in. We wish that we could invest in a stairway to the harbor area; however, the pathway is owned by BNSF Railroad and we are not allowed to make any improvements to it. We have partnered with our neighboring hotels to install flood lights to illuminate the pathway at night as well as installed way-finding signage to make the route easier to find. Additionally, we have been in communications with the City of Oceanside to explore any possible opportunities of improving the infrastructure of the pathway but as mentioned before, it is outside the public realm. As an alternative option, you can just walk along the sidewalk at the front of the hotel and it leads to the same harbor area without any hills to navigate and only take a couple of minutes longer - this is actually the direction that we advise guests with disabilities as the sidewalk meets ADA requirements.
Thanks again for taking the time to share feedback about your experience and thank you in advance for letting me know which room number you were in so that we can follow up on the shower head you indicated was not working well.
Warm Regards,
Geoffrey Parkford, General Manager

We stayed two nights at the Holiday Inn in Oceanside. It was our first time. The hotel is close to the pier and the beach and appears to be newly renovated. We stayed on the 4th floor ( there are 5) in a large room with two double beds. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning was just right. The room had a small fridge and a large flat screen TV. There is a restaurant and workout facility but we do not use either. There are two quick response elevators and parking under the building.

The front desk girl was absolutely wonderful, and helpful. She was so sweet I hope she gets a bonus or something , customer service means everything to me! I can't Express how much the staff were polite and helpful and always happy to answer any questions.

Room Tip: The room was nice and big and clean!

We had a great experience in a clean hotel with a friendly staff. It is in a great location. The beach is a short walk away. The room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
