This time, I went for a classic, the Margherita. And it did not disappoint. One thing that still needs some improvement is the fact that the toppings have too much liquid, i.e., watery pizza in the middle. Otherwise the crust was delicious.

We ordered two pizzas and had a Sangiovese to with them. The pizzas are excellent traditional Napolitan style. This is becoming more common in the US, but not everyone gets is right. They have many other traditional Italian dishes, but we did not sample any.

It's a really casual atmosphere, and we did not need to make a reservation on a busy Thursday evening. Park behind the CVS for free and walk here.

The service was great, our waiter recommended the wine that was really good. We did have one of those trick tables that you have shove a bunch of napkins under to get it to stop tilting. That is reflected in the price though. I think we got out the door for about $50. If you like Napolitan pizza, give this place a try. Stop going to Mountain Mike's!!!

Our mostly Italian group chose a mix of pastas and pizza, and all of it was very good. The wine list included excellent wines from Italy at very reasonable prices.

I’m from Napoli and when I’m abroad I only have pizza to real Neapolitan pizzerias affiliated and recommended by the Association of the Real Neapolitan Pizza (Neapolitan pizza is UNESCO heritage).
This IS the pizza! Best pizza had in the SF Bay Area, after trying all affiliated pizzerias.
I got a Margherita and the dough was super soft and light...simply amazing!
Pizza makers are real neapolitans, as well as Mauro, the main waiter.
The restaurant is cozy and really warm and welcoming

On a recent, quiet Tuesday, my friend and I had lunch at Doppio Zero as first-timers. We arrived at 11:30am; the only ones in the restaurant. Right off the bat, we ordered the Ischia sandwich, the Salsiccia pizza, and two Cokes. The Cokes arrived promptly Then, the restaurant began to fill up. And our Cokes continued to be filled up...six times each!...before our food finally materialized at 1:30pm!!! The sandwich and pizza were fine but something was critically wrong in the kitchen...our planned one-hour lunch became a three-hour ordeal. We will not return.
