Morro Bay is a favorite place of ours but we had never stayed at the 'Inn at Morro Bay' since it is away from the central part of town. The Inn is beautifully situated just inside the Morro Bay State Park entrance, adjacent to a small rookery preserve for great blue heron and white egrets.
My wife was recovering from back surgery and we had requested a suitable room. We arrived Monday afternoon ahead of a predicted winter storm and settled into our Bayview Room. From our parking spot, room 407 was on the ground floor but on the bay side it was the third story with a beautiful view of the bay and a large deck (roof for the lower stories.) This was perfect for views of the bay, short walks and picture taking.
The room was nicely decorated with appropriate amenities. Bedside lights with outlets were appreciated. The TV had an HDMI port but was nearly inaccessible without the aid of a pocket mirror and flashlight. An installed HDMI extension would have been helpful.
The storm arrived and it rained buckets that night and the following day... making the fireplace, sheltered porch and walking deck even more appreciated.
Dinner at the on-site, recently remodeled '60 State Park Restaurant' was a great experience. We will definitely stay here again.More
