Description: Cafe M is the most exciting and wildly romantic dining destination in the Malibu Hills. Located at the Crest of Malibu, off Kanan Rd. and Mulholland Dr. lies a unique restaurant and lounge with a Nouveau Barbeque menu that made Calamigos Ranch famous 4 generations ago, and keeps it breathtaking today. Join them Thursday through Sunday from noon to midnight with an amazing al fresco lunch by their private lake, or join them for dinner on a candlelit patio overlooking the property, and stay for farm fresh cocktails under the stars with romantic lounge music, live jazz and blues under the stars!! As the only dining destination on the Malibu Wine trail, come see what Malibu Vines can offer with the finest wine selections, and even tastings right at the restaurant. Bring a special someone, family, or just some friends and lounge on private cabanas, fluffy day beds, or get a private raft to sail the lake on. There truly is nothing quite like an evening at M Cafe.

Visit Malibu Cafe for the surroundings and service, and the food is okay. We had sandwiches and salads and were there on a quiet Monday afternoon after the recent rain storm. It was absolutely lovely. The waiter was good, the food was satisfactory, the bar was okay. Visit for the nature and outdoor activities.

This was our second visit to this beautiful place - we'd been at night before so I wanted to check it out during the day. It was on a weekend and was rather busy but that added to the vibe and general merriment of the whole place. You have to valet your car - there's no option to self-park (although if you go Monday to Wednesday there is). There were several parties going on - a hen do, a couple of birthdays and the rest of the cafe was filled with family and friends. There was what looked like more formal dining by one of the bars, then a BBQ area and another bar where you order mainly soups, salads, and sandwiches. We went for the cobb and the caesar, both of which were filling and tasty. The fun thing about Calamigos is that there are lawn games for everyone to enjoy. There's something about this place that just feels very special - it's like being welcomed home and enjoying a big garden party with all of your loved ones. If you have a chance to go, you absolutely must.

Most delicious craft beverages and noms; hangout for a while and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere; take your drink and explore the Ranch grounds; play various fun, group lawn games. Our group arrived on a Friday at 1pm — it was like we had the place to ourselves!
Note: $9 for parking.

A restaurant and picnic area all in one. Absolutely perfect place to enjoy cocktails while enjoying a game of corn hole, pool or ping pong. Food is good and fun, and the atmosphere can’t be beat. Fun, fun, fun place to spend a sunny day.
