First time in the United states and also my first stime in LA. My friends already stayed in this hotel, since they were here also for the gaming expo, and recommended this place. Spacious rooms, clean and very good service.

Stayed: June 2018
Thank Michael D

This is a BIG hotel in the heart of downtown LA and the financial district. Check in was quick. The clerk was friendly and professional. The lobby is a bit dated, but definitely had a unique style. Many movies and TV shows have filmed here. If you’re directionally challenged, pay attention to the directions to your room. You use one of four different sets of elevators to access your tower (Gold Tower, Red Tower, Blue Tower, etc.) The floors are all connected, but some may find it confusing. Because the towers are round, the rooms and bathrooms are an odd shape. Not very spacious. The rooms are a bit tired, but Westin’s Heavenly Bed is always comfortable. Great views on all sides of this hotel and I appreciate the floor to ceiling windows. The doormen and bell staff are GREAT at dealing with LA’s homeless problem. Everyday, I witnessed some kind of “show” outside, but the staff does a great job at moving them along and providing a buffer for hotel guests. Be aware there are two entrances. The main entrance on Flower and a secondary entrance on Figueroa. Some Uber drivers couldn’t figure that out.

The layout of this hotel is quite insane. Whatever “Fountainhead” fan designed this place gets five stars for seeing his fantasy hotel come to life. Just getting around this place from curb to front desk, pool, restaurants, etc, will often require a series of color-coded elevators, stairwells, and I think a few chutes and ladders too. Nothing really seems integrated into the actual hotel, except maybe the lobby bar. The rooms are standard Westin efficiency so the value is solid but while the rest of Downtown LA seems to improve with every visit, I am quite sure this spot has not changed in 10 years or more. The actual food choices in the hotel are very low quality, local vendors, many of which are not open if you arrive after 8pm. Not the fault of Westin to be fair, they are not really part of the hotel. Stay here if you want a standard Westin experience in a crazy, meandering hotel with Willy Wonka-elevators.

Dear Sniveler,

I would like to begin by thanking you for providing your honest feedback regarding your recent visit. With your valuable input, we are able to continuously improve the operational deficiencies of our hotel. We strive to meet and exceed the expectations of all of our guests. For this reason, I am disappointed to hear that we did reach this goal for you.

I sincerely apologize that the physical layout of the hotel can be found hard to navigate. We wish for all aspects of your stay from the hospitality offered by our associates to the features and design of the rooms and our building leave our guests feeling renewed and rejuvenated at the end of their stay. We do hope that that our dedication to service and meeting your needs made up for the physical layout of our facility. I have also shared your feedback with the management company to ensure each vendor revisits their procedure and put a renewed focus on ensuring food quality.

Once again, please accept our sincere apologies for the encounter. I appreciate your business and patronage, and I hope you will continue to stay loyal. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Thank you very much.

Be well,

Your Service Team at The Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites

Was able to book this location with an awesome last minute rate that included parking which sealed the deal for us. Valet staff was friendly and when they saw our puppy commented that there was a nice terrace on the 4th floor for him to go potty. Kevin at check-in was awesome and when he saw me waiting in the Gold/Platinum line, he quickly came over and directed me to a check-in computer. As a Gold member, I was offered breakfast or points and happily took the breakfast option. We were also upgraded to a 1-bedroom suite which completely blew us away. Yes, the hotel building is a little quirky in how it was designed but we thought it was pretty unique and made it very memorable. The hotel rooms were immaculately maintained so major props to the housekeeping staff.
Breakfast was also great and the complimentary continental breakfast for Gold members was more then adequate and upgrading to the full breakfast was only $6. Staff there was very friendly and efficient and were always making sure your table was cleared and drinks topped off.
What was interesting about this hotel is that on the first few floors, there were various business and restaurants so you had plenty of options to eat at which was nice since options outside the hotel were fairly limited. Since this hotel is pet friendly with no fee up to 40lbs, we'll definitely be back when we're travelling with our pup!

Stayed here recently as I had business meetings and dinners in downtown and in Koreatown. Room was upgraded to a suite and extremely spacious and clean. Got a good night's sleep - quiet and curtains were able to keep light out. Navigating the lobby takes a few seconds for the brain to process - the whole set up is circular and there are a few towers which are color coded that you could be staying in.

I did have issues with Uber drivers challenged picking me up at the hotel. I was typically going in and out of the entrance on Flower St but the formal address is on Figueroa St.

Didn't have a chance to partake in any of the other amenities. The restaurant on the lobby floor was pretty packed (both dinner time and breakfast time). Valets out front are helpful. Weren't many taxis just sitting around which is why we were always taking Uber.
