The deposit requirements for this average motel are excruciating. The night clerk was unable to properly process my $200 deposit for a $201 room and had to make numerous contacts with her superior to figure out what to do. I was willing to offer up cash but was told they fo not handle cash. 20 minutes later (2:00am) she was finally able to process my crefit deposit and wss further instructed to take an ADDITIONAL $100 CASH DEPOSIT! So now I'm $500 in the hole for a $200 room.
I selected this room via HOTELS.COM because it was pet friendly and it had a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi holds ONE person and my 10 lb dog would be an additional $35 plus another $135 deposit. That would make it $670 in the hole for ONE NIGHT. This was two days ago and my credit card has not yet been refunded and nobody at El Patio Inn knows what the hell they're doing.
So far the refund I've gotten was the $100 cash deposit I was originally told they couldn't do.
I am EXTREMELY DIDSATISFIED with El Patio Inn's deposit/refund policy. So far I think it qualifies as criminal. Sleep in your car or on a bus stop bench instead of this ripoff scam.More
