Great place to stay. The room was very clean and roomy. We also loved the pool. The complimentary breakfast was yummy. We loved it here, and would stay here again. They were very accommodating. We took my elderly parents and allowed us to check in early.

We stayed for one night in the Debbie Reynolds Room at the Best Western.
While the place is older, the rooms have been updated. We stayed in a twin bed room. The beds were so comfortable. We got a good night sleep.
The TV has lots and lots of cable channels.
There was also a nice sofa in the room.
While the bathroom is standard, it was nice having two sinks - one outside the bathroom and one inside. The shower flow was goodd.
We enjoyed the breakfast.
Service was very good.
Check in was great. Staff member was very nice and told some good stories to make the check in time just fly by.
Overall, for Lone Pine, this is a very good place for a night's rest.
There are nice places to sit outside and also an outdoor swimming pool.
its also nice to be able to park right by one's room.
Mini, it was a pleasure having you as our guest at Best Western Plus Frontier Motel. We appreciate your kind words and compliments regarding our staff and your room. We are happy we met your expectations for a wonderful stay, and we look forward to your next trip to the Lone Pine area. Thank you for staying with us - we appreciate your business!
The Frontier Motel calls itself a "Best Western Plus". There is nothing "Plus" about the rooms besides the location. Without a doubt it is the hotel with the best mountain view in the small town of Lone Pine - and that is most likely what people come here for in the first place.
People are friendly here and happy to help you, but the hotel itself is a drawback to the 1960s. Rooms are dark, bathrooms tiny, and parking in front of your door (which causes unpleasant noise). Everything smells (you know, the typical old motel smell) or is covered by spray.
I must admit that they offered the best complimentary hot breakfast we had on our whole trip: lots of choices, everything fresh, often refilled and remarkable service.
If you decide to stay here, then close your eyes, sleep and enjoy the breakfast. Do not forget to visit the fabulous Film Museum! (And by the way, we stayed in other Lone Pine hotels: They are not better, believe me.)
Thank you for posting your comments regarding our hotel. While we are an older hotel and our outward appearance certainly does not hide that fact, we make every effort to keep our service standards and other facilities in excellent condition. We are sorry you were disappointed with your room provided, and hope you will give us another chance to regain your trust. We thank you for staying with us and hope to see you again.
Stayed here a couple nights because friends and I were hiking Mr Whitney.
Looks like they're doing some work on the place as the parking lot had a fresh slurry seal, but still hadn't been stripped for parking. The lobby was pretty average. I believe there is a cafe attached to the front lobby, but we didn't eat there.
Our room was well in the back...so a ways from any road noise. It had an in-wall AC/Heating unit. 2 queen size beds...they were nice and comfy. The bathtub had water jets, but we didn't try them out. I think we had a 40 inch flat screen TV, but it might have been smaller. Now we did find a dead cockroach on the floor of our room upon returning from our hike...it wasn't there when we left. Room comes with a coffee maker, ironing board, hair dryer, and small refrigerator.
After our climb, we opted to relax in the pool. The front desk said it was heated but it sure felt cool (probably desired during the warmer summer temperatures). Pool towels are at poolside. No sauna or jacuzzi.
I think it was a bit pricey to stay here but not like there is a lot to choose from in Lone Pine. For me, nothing more than an average hotel. No objections to staying here again, but only if I can get a good rate...I'd rather camp at one of the nearby mountain campsites if the price is high again.
Thank you for taking the time for reviewing your stay with us. We are glad you and your friends had an overall nice experience and that you slept well on our comfy bed. Having said that, I am sorry for the inconvenience you had with our cleanliness. We are working with our housekeeping department to tighten procedures to make sure that we deliver a superb experience every time. We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you all back soon.

We had a great stay at this little place.
The location was convenient to Mt. Whitney and the Alabama Hills, as well as the small town strip.
The room was very nice, AC was strong, clean and the standard Best Western amenities were appreciated.
The pool was great for our child and the staff on property went out of their way to make sure were able to access our room while they resurfaced the parking lot.
A very convenient stop!
