The Burnt Mill Cottage provided my husband and I a quiet, serene and for our anniversary getaway. The weather was outstanding allowing us a relaxing opportunity for coffee on the front porch taking in all the beautiful trees.
Paul & Janice's cabin is simply beautiful! You look up beautiful / immaculate in the dictionary you for sure will see a picture of their cottage!! We loved having every amenity available at our disposal. The cabin was well appointed, very clean and beautifully decorated. It was also extremely cozy.
Burnt Mill Cottage is convenient to Lake Arrowhead's village, 5 minutes to get there, but we still felt like we were deep in the woods!!!
Paul was a pleasure to work with & sent timely emails with all of the information we needed prior to our arrival. We absolutely loved our stay. Paul was so nice called us that evening to make sure everything went well with our stay! WOW never heard of anyone doing that or even caring! Thank you Janice & Paul for sharing your Cottage.
My husband and I stayed in this cabin for 3 nights last week and thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations. The cottage, rustic in decor and perfectly appropriate for the environment, was well-appointed with modern amenities, and certainly met with our approval.
This was our second stay at the beautiful and immaculate Burnt Mill Canyon Cottage. We love the cabin's decor, the well stocked kitchen, and the comfortable dining area and living room. The upstairs master suite is spacious and even has a balcony. My husband and I also enjoyed relaxing in the comfy lounge chairs on the patio overlooking the wooded property. It was fun walking in the neighborhood and around the nearby lake. We even had time to kayak, visit Santa's Village, do some shopping, and dine at a local restaurant. We will definitely be returning to stay soon!
A beautifully remodeled cottage with every amenity. It was a work of love and it shows. The location is perfect: a quiet setting in the forested canyon with a seasonal stream which was flowing during our stay. The dogwoods were blooming which was the reason we chose this time of the year, but every season would have it unique beauty: be it summer at the lake, the changing leaves in the fall, or falling snow in winter.
Sometimes you need a weekend away. This Lake Arrowhead cabin is a perfect retreat place for those in need of some soulful nourishment. The location is wonderful, the actual cabin is magnificent, and it's clear that the owner has put a lot of thought into creating a well-designed and comfortable space. This isn't just a mute place to sleep, this place sings!
The wee canyon where the cabin is located was just filling up with white dogwood flowers when I was there. What's great is to be close enough to the lake to walk to, but just far enough away from everything to get perfect silence in the morning and evening. There is a quaint footbridge leading from the roadside parking are over a babbling brook to the cabin.
I love how the owner has thought through every detail—from the lights on the footbridge, to the interesting, hand-made lantern fixtures. If it were warm enough, I would have loved to host an outside dinner in the very excellent looking patio area.
The kitchen is modern, the lounge area well suited to singled-malt fuelled conversations, and the bedrooms soft and inviting. Do you ever just lay on the perfect mattress? What makes this a five-star location for me is that in addition to being beautiful, and perfect for weekend breaks away from urban hustle with family and friends, is that you're guaranteed the most comfortable sleep you've ever had.
In summary—this is THE place for your Lake Arrowhead retreat you've been thinking about.
