We found this villa by chance while searching for a Rhodes holiday. We struggle to book hotels as we are 2 adults and 3 children. First time we have booked a villa with private pool. The pool was great and a reasonable size. Villa was clean and tidy with plenty of space and good air conditioning. Bedrooms really nice and good beds. The fold down sofa bed was adequate but had obviously had a few spillages on it so the mattresses were very stained. There were some issues with the drainage in the bathroom and the outdoor shower but were fixed within 24 hours after we reported the problem. Of note the owner of this villa also owns the MikriPoli hotel complex in Kolymbia - we were able to use the hotel during our stay including all inclusive meals! This was amazing value. A car is needed to stay here and we hired via Abbycar. Took 17 minutes ( if road quiet) to get to the hotel. We didn't eat all meals at the hotel but went most days. The hotel also has a small waterpark with some really good slides, kids loved these. The food at the hotel was really good and plenty of choice, x3 vegetarians in our family with no issues. Soft drink options ok but the diet cola wasn't very nice. The coffee machines were hit and miss, white coffee not great.
We visited a lot of places in Rhodes and the villa was a great base. Will probably come back, keen to see if the owner has any other villas slightly closer to the MikriPoli. I was the only one driving and would have been better if it wasn't as far away.
We stayed here last week (early June) after booking a last minute with Thompson but didn't fancy the provided accommodation and having never having tried a private villa before thought we would take the plunge, the major downside is that we will never stay at anything else from now on! lol
We got hire car from airport and met Stephanos the agent at the Mitri Poli hotel in Kolumpia which is 25 mins away. we were given a meal and drink and access for the week to the all inclusive should we want it which was a nice bonus and we used it on and off when passing etc.
Stephanos then drove in front of us down to Kalathos and the villa (20 mins ) and showed us around and what does what etc, he was the perfect host and was always on the end of phone if required.
The villa itself was lovely, it could have slept another 4 of us if required but as a couple it was very spacious, 3 x a/c all provided, bi-fold doors onto seating area, upstairs and downstairs loos, great shower, the best bed iv'e ever had in Greece, nothing whatsoever wrong, pool was also fantastic and just the right temp. the villas are set in large plots and not overlooked, four sunbeds and plenty of chairs etc the only very minor thing is the villa in front which looks as if resided in has some dogs and on two of the evenings they were left out till 10 ish and barked incessantly but that's not a refection on the villa Athena and they were eventually taken inside.
you do need a hire car for this villa and the signage is hard to spot directing you off the main road in the dark but once you get the location sorted it is easy, Kalathos has a few nice restaurants and is only 2 mins by car (very dark off the development at night so you would be walking)
this is our 4th trip to Rhodes and will be going back and happily re book this place it is pretty much in the middle of the island and perfect for tripping around in the car.
relaxing in the villa in the evening we plugged a laptop into the flatscreen provided and used netflix which was all very home from homeish
