“great house, beautiful location, fantastic holiday”
Reviewed 27 September 2012 for a stay in July 2012

We stayed here for a week in July, family of four with a 2 and 8 year old. The house is a delightful cottage, up-graded in a modern contemporary style, with all mod-cons. The location is right on the solent with views to die for. The small stroll to the beach from the bottom of the garden was a big hit with every member of the family.
The location is ideal for exploring the locality, with Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Isle of Whight, Gosport to name a few.
All the family enjoyed the stay in the cottage, luckily we had good weather and the children made the most of the terrace and beach, and we all relaxed.
There is no parking space with the house, but we managed to park easily outside on the road everyday.
The only slightly negative comment I can make, is that blinds on the felux windows upstairs would have helped, thus avoiding our 2 year old waking up with the morning light!
This is definately a great place to stay for both family and non-family groups. The pub down the road was a lovely retreat, along with the cafe which served refreshing coffee and cooked breakfast.

“sailors cottage with great view”
Reviewed 15 August 2012 for a stay in July 2012

Nice and well equipped holiday house with lovely view.
Very nicely decorated with maritime details such as rowing oar aside the staircase, ropes and buoys, bookshelf’s from driftwood and pebble stone walls in the bathrooms.
The floor is made of yellowish concrete and makes you think you're still at the beach. It even has floor heating( which we didn't need).Easy to clean.
We had a lovely sunny week, swam in the sea and had almost every meal outside at the terrace.
In the house you find a lot of information about the region and even some historic books of its history.
We had a very nice time.

“A hidden gem”
Reviewed 12 June 2012 for a stay in June 2012

A great holiday rental with a breathtaking view over the Solent which is ever changing. Fantastic location/base for exploring Portsmouth, Southampton, the New Forest and so much more. Great local village really close by with butchers, bakers etc and a local shop within walking distance not to mention the pub at the end of the road! All mod cons to keep all the family happy.

“Really cute, nautical-themed cottage with a fabulous view!”
Reviewed 1 June 2012 for a stay in December 2010

We've stayed at Cowes View at least three times--a couple times during the summer and once when there was snow all the way down to the edge of the Solent! Returning to this pleasant little cottage always feels like returning to our own cozy holiday home. The cottage is well equipped, clean, and well kept. The very pleasant owner and delightful family live nearby, and one or more will pop in very promptly if anything needs attention. There are pubs, shops, restaurants, and a library all within walking distance. Walks along the front in the evening breeze were especially enjoyable. Within easy driving distance are all of the Portsmouth/Southampton/Solent attractions.

“AMAZING”
Reviewed 1 June 2012 for a stay in May 2012

I could have been in the Mediterranean, the hot spell of weahter made our stay at Cowes view Coastguard magical.
The owner has done coastguard cottage to top Spec and thought of everything to make your stay extremely comfortable.
It was our 2nd time and we are about to secure our 3rd visit.
I highly recommened this cottage and if you manage to get a week when the sun is shinning that is an added bonus.
Mary Snook.
