Food and service was really good. Definitely a locals place...at 130pm the bar was still fairly full of diners enjoying lunch with friends. Dining room had another 15-20 people.

But to me it's a matter of integrity. Adding $2 to the bill just listed as "price increase" without the waitress or menu having indicated it was coming is a problem.

We had the garlic fried chicken. It was pretty good. Nothing amazing. Kind of flourish. Came with all sorts of sides. Fries, which were super delicious. Beans. They were okay. Cottage cheese, cabbage soup, that was really good, a salad, and bread with salsa. Lol. It was weird.

We also got fried zucchini which was amazing!!! By far the best zucchini we've had. (One of our favorite apps). And hubby got fried fish and onion rings, which he said was really good. We had SO much leftovers. Tried to find someone homeless, and couldn't find a soul. Hoping that's a good sign.

Our server was super nice, and on top of everything. Checked on us often. Casual atmosphere. Surprised it was pretty busy, for a Monday, in the middle of the day! Looks like it's a very popular spot.

Doesn't look like much from outside, but inside it's a bustling bar and happening restaurant. Food is quite good. Service was painfully slow.

This place is in an old part of town, but the proprietors are working very hard at serving delicious Basque food in a casual friendly atmosphere. The employees are friendly and helpful. Their salads are outstanding, and what is known as “the set-up” (traditional assortment of Basque side dishes) is also first rate. This place is a true slice of Americana!

Even during covid, the Pyrenees has been able to make a very pleasant atmosphere with their outdoor dining. Their patio area has been attractively arranged with plants and television, while still allowing for a nice air flow and social distancing.
Beyond that, the wait staff is very attentive, and the menu is extensive enough for anyone to find something to like. Whether you order fish, foul, beef or vegetarian, you will be well pleased with the quality, quantity and price.
A local favorite for years, it just continues to get better. Worth a stop.
