Despite hurricane Bertha doing her best to way away the A835 (just missed us!), we were body boarding on Clashnessie beach mere hours after the winds and rain had ceased, in the warm sunshine.
The Brigs is just half a mile from the beach, up a country track. It is well appointed, with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer - and despite the body boarding on the Monday, there was sufficient wet weather to ensure that there were clothes to be washed every day, so those are essential. Having a dishwasher as well just made the holiday as chore free as it could be. The wifi, although fairly slow, was good to have, to keep track of weather and local attractions.
The master bedroom looks out onto a great waterfall, and up towards the hills, where there is a cairn; we have stayed at the Brigs twice now, and we hid a little cache of quartz in 2012, and were delighted to find it in 2014.
