We really enjoyed our week's holiday in Clachtoll. The caravan was modern, clean and very comfortable and the setting was perfect. Lovely views of the nearby hills, the sea and the 'cloven rock' and Just a short walk to the beach (really just across the campsite, through the dunes and you're there).
William made us feel very welcome and even came to warn us when the weather was about to turn, but even in some fairly strong winds the caravan felt very secure and snug.
The surrounding area is simply stunning. Lochinver is a nice local 'town' with supermarkets, a couple of places to eat and some nice gift shops, and don't forget to visit the 'Pie Shop'! (The curried vegetable pie was my favourite).
And not forgetting 'Flossie's' the little blue shop just beside the campsite. Don't be misled by the diminutive size. This is an Aladin's cave so if you don't see what you are looking for, just ask as it stocks much more than might be apparent at first glance. There's even fresh bread and croissants if you time it right.
All in all we had a great holiday. The weather was pretty mixed but there are some lovely short walks to do along the coast if you fancy a bit of fresh air between lunch and afternoon tea!More
