1 review The staff were very helpful from making the booking through to our departure. The cottage is a great getaway for a couple of nights. Nice simple accommodation that was done very well. The location is excellent for getting access to some mountain walks. We did three long day walks on different hills without having to drive to any start points. Climbing up the ladder to the bed room was an interesting experience. This cottage is ideal for those looking for some basic accommodation whilst they explore the beautiful surroundings of the lake district.

Really enjoyed my stay here. From the initial booking, staff were keen to answer any queries and make sure things went smoothly, and this continued throughout the stay, with people being on hand to help if needed.
The property itself is exactly what I'd hoped for - rustic and quirky, but modern, clean and well presented. Everything was thought out well. Plenty bedding, towels and kitchen equipment were provided, as well as a jug of milk being left in the fridge for us, which was a lovely touch.
The bedroom is accessible by ladder, which makes it a bit more fun, and was snug and comfortable, but very comfy sofa bed downstairs, if you're not feeling too adventurous.
Great location, tucked away behind trees, which gave a nice secluded feeling. Despite the fact that it's close to an outward bound centre, it's far enough away and private enough that there was no noise or interruptions. The Dairy is about a ten minute walk from Glenridding and Patterdale, and both have a good choice of pubs and small shops. It's also only a short walk from the edge of Ullswater, and is at the beginning of a trail up Helvellyn.
Definitely worth a stay here :)

A great quirky accommodation perfect for a peaceful few days in the Lake District. Ullswater and the hills are right out the front door.
The bedroom is a lot of fun to get to as well which added a few laughs each night.
We will be back for sure.
