As many reviews have said, the tram is cute but expensive at 8 euros for a fairly short journey... read more
At 9 Euros per person, per way, its worth taking the journey between Soller town and Soller port, although the scenery on route isn't that much to write about. However, it was something different to experience and I would recommend doing it. As there was two of us and rather than waiting for the next tram, we took a taxi at 11 euros for the return trip!
Booked from cruise ship in Palma. Coach to Soller and walk to the station. One hour to have a drink and take photos before getting on the train. Not as pretty this time of year as no blossom on the trees. Steps at station are steep. Alighted at San Reus and coach back to ship.
Huge rip off, especially for a family. Get a taxi if possible. We are in 3 different countries over 24 days and so far, this is the worst tourst team I have seen.
Lovely experience. Recommend getting there early!! We got one of the first trams out for the day and it was easy to get a seat. They prefer if you pay in cash but will take card.
The kids enjoyed looking out of the windows and the uniqueness of the experience.
For those with mobility issues the tram has a high step you need to step on/ off, the ticket person was happy to help with this but I imagine at busy times this could be tricky.
We went down to the seaside had a lovely walk round and lunch and headed back. The tram back was quite busy but we tried a few different carriages and found a quiet one so would recommend having a try of different ones, at some were packed with standing room only and others very empty.
On our return there was a huge crowd of people wanting to get on the tram. So as above would recommend getting the earlier ones.
Seating is minimal and not enough for the tram. Seats are labelled with 3 seat numbers but there is room for 2. Or numbered with 2 and only seats one.
Standing room only.
Absolutely for a dry day only.
The old tram, leaves from the station in Sóller and goes to the beach, maybe about 4 kilometers. The price is 8 euros one way and the journey in one direction takes about half an hour. The tram is open air and has good views, overall I recommend it but beware it can get big crowds.
