“Great apartment in wonderful setting”
Reviewed 30 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

The apartment is very nice, with a great view from the living room.
The whole castle area and the castle history gives a special "wow" effect to just being there.
The small town and the surrounding nature is great for those seeking a little away from tourists or just want to enjoy nature.

“Tranquility”
Reviewed 27 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Appartment was exactly as depicted on Tripadvisor.
Kitchen was well equipped for holiday stay.
Main Bedroom had good sized comfy bed.
Single bathroom which was fine as we were 2 but would be a little challenging for more than 4. Lounge/dining area is charming/rustic. Appartment is on 3rd floor , so quite a hike if you carry too much luggage but good exercise!
Lovely pool but not heated, so a little fresh in Sept. Tennis court has been newly refurbished but we didn't get opportunity to use as there is so much to do & see in the surrounding countryside.
The Chateau has many owner residents so there is quite a community if you want to socialise.
Lovely view of countryside & pool from appartment but no terrace though there is plenty of garden furniture where you can eat or drink.
Nice Bistro 100metres from the Chateau which whilst not Haute cuisine was perfectly acceptable & great value for money.
Loved the stay, would happily have stayed for a 2nd week & would definitely return.

“Good stay, great location!”

My husband and I just spent a week at the Chateau of Saint-Laurent du Verdon, and we had such a good stay there.
The flat is good, quite basic, but I think it is perfect for a family vacation for a week or more.
We could use the swimming pool as well as the outside furniture. The view was nice from the living room. The ustensils in the kitchen were limited. There was no TV reception, but the Internet was quite good.
The check in and the check out were easy to do.
Good place to stay.

“Peaceful, wonderful place to stay.”
Reviewed 3 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The apartment is very spacious and contains everything anyone would need including a dishwasher and washing machine. It is on the second floor of the chateau ( quite a few steps up...) with magnificent views from the lounge window. Grounds are beautiful, we had games of tennis and used the pool every day. Chateau wasn't even 1/4 full, so plenty of privacy even in August. We often had the pool to ourselves.
Great restaurants in Cotignac and Moustiers, both of which are fascinating villages to explore. Aups market was the best we visited - another interesting place to wander around.
Perfect family holiday destination - take your own inflatable kayak if you have one or hire one - so many fantastic lakes and gorges to explore. The ' little lac' just down the road from the Chateau is a good place to relax and literally 5 mins drive away.

“Lovely apartment, lovely countryside, lovely villages, just lovely”

We have stayed at this property three times now and have always enjoyed every minute. St Laurent du Verdon is a small village surrounded by beautiful fields of lavender - a stunning sight in June/July when the lavender is ready for harvesting. There is a small cafe/bistro in the village, about 100m from the Chateau gates. The food there, while not exactly cordon bleu, is well prepared, reasonably priced and nicely served in a friendly and accommodating atmosphere.
The 17th century chateau was sympathetically modernised and converted to apartments in about the 1980s. The owner's site photographs say it all. There is an outdoor swimming pool (unheated), tennis court, petanque arena, all set in beautifully kept gardens and lawns.
The apartment (No 16) is on the second floor and is therefore not suitable for the disabled (no lifts). The apartment is on two levels (again, not suitable for the disabled): lounge, kitchen and one twin bedroom on the first level; bathroom and two bedrooms on the second level (one twin bed and one double bed. The lounge is good sized, light and airy. No TV reception but the small TV works well as a CD player - and there are dozens of CDs there. The apartment is well equipped, clean and seems to have been carefully looked after.
Nearby is the stunning Gorge du Verdun (white water rafting a specialty) and the Lac de St Croix (electric boats for hire for the more sedate) and all around are picturesque Provencal villages - every one worth a visit, especially on market days. In Quinson (3 Km) there is the fascinating Museum of Prehistory. There is horse riding nearby and dozens of pleasant country walks and bike rides. If you are into dining out there are scores (if not hundreds) of good restaurants in the surrounding area.
Nearest villages with grocers and restaurants are Quinson and Artinosc, both about 3 km away.. Nearest large supermarket is at Riez (an old Roman town which is worth a day’s visit itself) about 14 km away.
General Verdict: If you are looking for a hot time in the old town tonight - this is probably not for you. If you are looking for a tranquil, peaceful, lazy holiday in High Provence - you probably can't do better
