Although it was chilly on the roof garden, as you would expect on an April evening in Johannesburg, the alfresco dinner was most enjoyable, and Suzanne (the owner) went out of her way to make it a pleasant evening. It was stunning!! The PERFECT setting for a romantic dinner...

Breakfast was a sumptuous, delicious event. Too much food, in fact. The staff were friendly and spared no effort in making our stay a most enjoyable one...

Thank You Suzanne!

It's hard to describe when you have an experience like the one at Kirawa. The owners make you feel like you are family. The property is a beautiful oasis. The rooms are immaculate! Breakfast is prepared like you are at a fine restaurant, even down to the homemade strawberry and fig preserves from their own garden! I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.

If you play your cards right, they might even treat you to a traditional South African Braii.... If you don't know what that is; ask the owners. Of course, there might be a slight upcharge as that is WAY above the room costs....

If they sold stock in the property I would be happy to be part owner....

Thanks

My family and I stayed at Kiwara Guesthouse as we were taking a few days in Joburg while dropping our son for his first year at Wits. We were treated like one of the family and felt that way. We enjoyed an amazing home theatre one afternoon - just like we were at the movies...but better. The view of the Joburg skyline from the roof garden was gorgeous. We felt safe at all times and whatever we needed was catered for. A special birthday cake was arranged for my teenage daughter on the roof...a complete surprise! The breakfasts were as tasty as they were lovely to look at. We will definitely be staying here anytime we are in Johannesburg! Thank you to Suzanne & Bronwyn!

This was the first trip to South Africa for my wife and I. We were very nervous about what we would find and experience. Our stay at the Kiwara Guest House was truly the highlight of our trip. Each room is exquisite! The rooftop is set up in a way that makes evenings on the roof a must experience for any guest.

As magnificent as the property is, it is exceeded by the hospitality of the host family. Their kindness and hospitality was endless! I felt guilty with them being so incredibly kind and going out of their way to make us feel like family.

If you are thinking about this property versus anything else in Johannesburg, don't waste your time any further. There will be no place you will find that exceeds the kindness and service you will receive here.

We, a family of four, visited Kiwara Guesthouse on the 16th and 17th of June 2017. Reception was very friendly and they went out of there way to make us feel at home.
The room was luxuriously beautifull and spacious.
We had an option of several breakfasts to choose from, and each of ours was superbly devine. Kiwara Guesthouse is highly recommended by us, and most definitely the place we wil stay when we visit Gauteng again.
