They are doing alteration outside which should be nice when finished maybe it was maintenance . The prices are high . Cheese was excellent . In the deli the lady was so rude which put my sons girlfriend right off . As she is a chef with her own restaurant made her decide not to support them . Pity but rude people put everyone off .

Beautiful on a sunny day with lovely jungle gym and animals to view for the children and loads of grass to run about.
It’s a lovely place for a Sunday visit. Food was nothing to rave home about but the ambiance was lovely and staff very helpful with umbrellas and baby chair. Also has a dam nearby and a gorgeous scenery.

Great environment! Interesting history with lovely views of how the cheese is made. Great opportunity to purchase some good Dutch products at the shop.

Van Gaalens has some awesome mountain biking. There's mostly XC style trails, but there's a couple of "enduro style" fairly technical trails such as Pofadder and Eric's Revenge Enduro, which are worth sessioning.
All in there's probably about 60+ kilometers of trails here, well worth a visit!

We spent a pleasant couple of hours today at Van Gaalen's sitting under the trees. Being a week day it was very peaceful and not very busy. Unfortunately, even with a rather limited menu on offer, the food was indifferent to say the least. We both had hamburgers - the rolls were extremely stale, and there was barely a taste of cheese on them. The potato wedges looked delicious, but were under-cooked and not very pleasant. We were not tempted to stop in at the cheese shop to buy cheese, which probably says it all.

Another forgettable meal.
