We spent a weekend at this wonderful place.
Food was delicious. Every meal was different.
The staff were wonderful at 1st but seemed dissapointed about their tip at the end if the weekend, which made us feel a bit awkward. The owners are lovely people, they introduced themselves at breakfast.
The SPA is an absolute added bonus.
The real beauty is the
buildings and decor. A weekend isn't enough to absorb everything.
I wil certainly revisit. Great value for money.

Staff tips are optional and each to their own-- our staff
is our dream team and we do encourage them to but put
that extra bit in the deal -- -- would love you to visit again,
specially in winter with all the fires going , hot toddy's and
blankets everywhere!!.

Got to spend a weekend in this enchanting place. The cabin was quaint and comfortable, with no attention to detail spared. The staff i have to rave about. So welcoming, friendly and helpful. They even wash your vehicle before you leave.

I absolutely loved the setting of this place. There is an abundance of flora in the property and it also boasts these huge trees. The dogs on the property are just as friendly and in my opinion adds to the charm.

For dinner they served a 3 course meal inclusive of salad with a sour cream tart of some sort, bread, chicken and mushroom pie and custard with berry compote for dessert.

The food was slightly below average. Really did not enjoy the pie. The pastry was chewy and the filling dried out at the bottom of the ramekin. The cocktails however was really good.

Breakfast was the total opposite. It started off with yogurt and muesli followed by eggs bacon mince and beans with cherry tomatoes. Not to mention the amazing view of the stream Nestled amongst weeping willow trees going with that amazing breakfast.

There was a storm that night and the power was off from 9pm till 7am the next morning. Mosquitoes are a huge problem here and they ate us live because there was no electricity to use the plug in insect repellent, so word if advice peaceful sleep is a must. Also whilst the cottage was very neat the windows are in serious need of a wash.

There is a small pool on the property but the water is freezing.

Thx alot for your review input-- our french chicken pies usually a great hit -- chef luckily went on staff leave--- perhaps she comes back with new french zest!!
Unfortunately being on the river does create a mosquito problem-- power being off also did not help!!.
We do ask that guests are aware and bring their own mosquito repellent-- will def make sure of that once again. Be sure we will do our best to check all mentioned for future guests.
REGARDS and hope to have you back in the new year.
Always trying to improve!
MARGUERITE & TEAM.

Every little experience had so much effort put in to it. Great value for the price! The romantic welcome dinner setting and breakfast picnic were fantastic, the kitchen staff even baked me fresh gluten free muffins to deal with my allergy (they were mouthwateringly delicious). The spa in the forest is a little piece of heaven, with amazingly skilled staff. We loved the cottage we stayed in, it had a bohemian french feel, with a hammock and private balcony upstairs which made our stay extra private and relaxing. The hike is quite a cool experience and the really friendly well behaved dogs even accompanied us throughout the hike! All in all, the perfect little weekend escape from the city!

Room tip: The cottages are great if you want a bit of privacy :)
