This hotel probably has the most friendly, efficient and helpful staff my wife and I have ever come across in our travels. It was a pleasure to make this our home for our two week stay here. The location was in the centre of Simons Town immediately adjacent to Jubilee Square and is only a brief stroll to the shops, cafes, restaurants and museums of the town.
Our room was clean, comfortable, spacious, light and airy with a wonderful and always varying view across the harbour and out to the bay.
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and there was a wide choice of food on offer ranging from a full English breakfast through to cereals, cold meats, fruit, bread, juice and not forgetting an unlimited supply of tea and coffee.
I would concede that the hotel does require updating but the management had just begun a refurbishment program as we were leaving for home. We had a sneaky look into the first room that had just been finished and it had been excellently carried out.
We had stayed in a Cape Town hotel for a week before we arrived in Simons Town and the Quayside Hotel. My wife and I are now planning to return to the Quayside Hotel next year but next time we will leave Cape Town of the itinerary.
