This hotel is well deserving of its name ocio= leisure . Located on the hillside opposite Castro it provides a beautiful and relaxing view of the surrounding area. What was the total surprise was the excellent chef who provided outstanding dinners. The beautifully designed hotel using wood in the traditional way and the curves like a boat added to the beauty.
Also unique was the horsehair crafts ( necklaces and earrings etc.)

The location across the bay from Castro makes this the perfect launching point to explore Chiloe. Christian and Christian (owner and events coordinator) will point out numerous great itineraries to explore the churches of Chiloe, local farming industries, the varied landscape and countless eco and environmental charms of the region. Make sure you stay for at least a couple of nights as you can do almost everything on the island from this location and one night will NOT be enough. Ask to take the boat ride (a launch they operate with a local entrepreneur) to explore the coastline as well as the Castro palafitos up close. The meals are each one better than the next with local ingredients, attentive service and such warmth and hostality in abundance that you will be sad to leave.

Room tip: Each and every room offers privacy, quiet and comfort. I did not stay in one of the suites but they looked incredible.

The hotel is a bit hidden and far from any City.
Staff was very nice and attentive.
Rooms are big and comfortable, and have an excellent view. But the bathrooms are not separated, the toilet has a little glass door, you can hear EVERYTHING.
Prices are VERY high.
Wouldn't go back.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the view is beautiful, the staff very nice and helpful, and the food is absolutely amazing!
The only downside may be the "spa" because it is a 10 min walk from the rooms, but it does add a bit of spice. :)
I would go back any time!

Fabulous jaw dropping view of the fjord looking across to Castro. We spent three days exploring Chiloé, and the view from this hotel 400 feet above the water is among the best on the island. Well manicured grounds with sheep and goats milling around. You do have to watch out for their droppings. Nice main lodge serving breakfast and dinner. Food was good, nice selection of Chilean wines, nice bar. The only hiccup was grilled octopus; so tough I could barely get my knife through it. We loved the evening and morning fires in their fireplace in the round. Wood fired hot tub in the woods is nice, but about a 5-10 minute hike down a very steep pathway. Walk to the beach is about 15 minutes down, 20 minutes up, again a very steep trail, not for the out of shape visitor. Our room was very nice, loved the rain forest shower head, and we slept with windows wide open each night – no bugs!! Adequate complimentary internet. Staff was superb, particularly Christian and Alexandra, who were also our tour guides on a trip to see penguins. Their knowledge of local customs, geography, and wildlife greatly contributed to our enjoyment of the area. Watch out for laundry fees. We had a couple days worth laundered, and it came back at $90.
