It is a historical monument. Built beautifully and maintained well.
The area around it is famous for many things. It is like the center of sukkur city from which different places originate. You can go to mobile market, vegetable and fruit market, spices market etc from there. All at walking distance.

The clock-tower (ghanta ghar) looked fascinating when we were young children. Our servant would take us there in a tonga, buy mitha (sweetmeet), chane (grams) and batashe (round-hollowed sugar candies) for us and return.

How could I forget the Nihari and Nan on Sundays which were brought home by one of our servants and mummy would give it asli ghee ka tarka.

unfortunately, due to uncontrolled migration from rural areas to urban, the city has lost its original beauty so has its numerous monuments.

Ghanta means Clock and Ghar means House. Ghanta Ghar means House of Clock. This tower has a huge clock on its top. This tower was built by Britishers before partition so that the people of Sukkur city can see the time as wrist watch and wall clocks were not common at that time.
This place is at the center of city so it remains overcrowded. Administration has placed grills so that no one can go inside the tower.
