Located in the same corner building under the old Federal Hotel. Good hawker food springs up here and there in Butterworth, but due to limited reviews, it's hard to find these shops. The shop looks old, a bit secluded and typical old style food court. The only landmark is the Federal hotel icon.
There were 2 busy stalls - 1 was Ta Han beef noodle and another was fried noodle specialist. Decided to try beef noodle as fried noodle stall was too busy.
All the beef noodle were priced the same - RM10 per serving. Options of mixed or single variety - fillet, tripe, tendon or intestine. Additional meat will be charged separately. Types of noodle offered - yellow noodle, rice noodle (beehoon), keow teow or mix.
Service was fast and accurate.
Ordered keow teow/yellow noodle with mix beef. All the beef parts were very well cooked. Contrary to my worry, I was expecting tripe or fillet to be over cooked and tough, but it was so tender and soft. The beef broth was so well blended with the keow teow and noodle. Not too thin, not too thick, just nice. No overwhelm with beef flavour and most importantly not oily.
Though RM10 per bowl might looked slightly overprice in such place, but after tasting it, it's worth every single cents.
