This was my second visit to Gibbs Farm and I was an enchanted with it this time as I was the last. The gardens are superb as are the views over the rift Valley. Our room, Weaver was comfortable and utterly charming with a terrace overlooking a little pond where the weaver birds were hard at work making nests. I could have spent hours there. I also enjoyed breakfast and lunch outside and there is a choice of charming places to eat. The staff were helpful but not pushy and the whole place has the feel of a relaxed weekend staying with friends. If you get the opportunity to stay here take it as it is a gem.

We stopped for lunch while in transit from Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro. Absolutely the best meal we had during our 2 weeks in Kenya and Tanzania. Fresh ingredients, care in preparation, wide variety, the only thing not to love was that we were only there for lunch! Had a very private table for two in a little alcove overlooking the coffee fields. Incredible view. Friendly and attentive service. If you have an opportunity to eat here do NOT pass it by!

We visited for lunch and a tour during our safari holiday. The food was the best we had all trip, you can tell it’s fresh. All the food is grown/reared on the farm and you can taste the difference. The tour was lovely to see how the coffee is grown and how the farm runs. It is quite far from safari areas but would be a nice for a few days rest in between safaris. You can also buy small bags of the coffee beans to take home.

Gibb's Farm's rustic charm is captivating. The 1929 farmhouse and richly appointed guest cottages are a true home-away-from-home, set in a garden landscape from which the world-class restaurant sources about 90% of its food and spices. Our cottage overlooked the food beds and had birds flitting in the flowers just off the sizeable private veranda. The food was incredibly fresh and well-seasoned, with a mix of European and local offerings, lunch-time and breakfast buffets and interesting drink offerings. Freshly roasted coffee, excellent birding, on-ground nightly tambo-chats, excursions to nearby villages, elephant caves and waterfalls complete the experience. We saw incredible wildlife during our day-trip to the Crater, but welcomed the lushness of this oasis after a dusty day in the open land-cruiser.

Room tip: Each cottage is unique and spacious, but request one close to the farmhouse.

The cottages were spacious and private, with an old world ambience. The food was an absolute highlight, with excellent quality and a good range of options. The views from the terrace were amazing and provided an opportunity to relax on a garden lounge to read or chat. Gibbs Farm exceeded our expectations.
